The only thing about working Guinan (or Q) into ENT would be that for me it would start to look as though TOS were (in another poster's words) the abberration. I want continuity, not abberrations. ;)

Q could definitely not appear in Enterprise without breaking with canon.

However - I could see Guinan showing up. It is already canon that she was on earth during Mark Twain's lifetime. The only thing they would have to maintain is that her planet has not yet been destroyed.

Minuet,

How do you know this?

After Q appeared on TNG he became well known throughout Starfleet. When he showed up on the other shows everyone seemed to figure out very quickly who he was. And no one was particularly frightened by him.

The only possible Q to show up earlier was Trelane and whether or not he is a Q is mere speculation. To have Q show up pre Trelane would just not make sense. If those types of beings were already known then Trelane should not have appeared so dangerous or mysterious to Kirk and his crew.

Okay, I'll buy that. I was just curious why you were so dead against him coming on the show.

Q could probably be on the show if they do it right.

As in invisible? If so, then yes, that could work.

I am opposed to having Q on the show. The reason why is that it would feel like they would have to pay too much attention to keeping them from seeing him or whatever than having a good story.

Guinan wouldn't have that problem though because they wouldn't have to worry about all that. I don't see any reason why she couldn't be on there. Maybe she can teach Archer a few things.

Guinan had some good moments, this is true. However, I could never get passed that damn hat.

I don't think they should have Q on Enterprise, but if they did there are ways it could be done.

He could be there, we as fans know he is Q, but he dosen't have to make it obvious to Archer and co that he has these abilities he has, he could do it on they sly. We could see him doing things, but the crew of Enterprise would think he is just an average Joe.

T'Lac,

I see--like they did with the Ferengi. Yeah, that could work. :)
