:whew: I don't know where I would be on Friday without Trek chat!!!

I have the same resolution this year as last. Stay a non-smoker.

Quit January 1, 2002, and haven't had a puff since. *crossfingers*

Having never smoked, i can't appreciate how difficult that must be, but after ywo years, is it still difficult to resist the urge?

For some years now, I've been making the perfect New Year's Resolution. It's one where it doesn't matter whether you keep it or ignore it, it's automatically kept. Can anyone guess what it is?

Ah, but you may not breath all year, you could die.

Not so much anymore. Although I still crave a cigar and brandy on those cold rainy days. The cravings are really fleeting though. I can't ever go back to it. It really is a smelly, disgusting habit.

Especially in California. In fact, the cigarette laws here had a lot to do with it. You can't smoke ANYWHERE in California, except outside, and even then you have to be at least 10 feet from the enterance to a business establishment. Not to mention the taxes bring it up to almost $5 a pack!

Not even in your own home?

$5 is nothing, we pay £5 for cigs. Rip-off Britain strikes again!

Well, yeah, in your own home, and there are still smoking hotel rooms. But the worst is no smoking in bars. Even as a non-smoker, I think that's bogus. The place you should always be able to smoke is in a bar. However, part of the reason I quit honestly is I got sick of having to finish my drink, step outside and have a cigarette, and come back in and order another. You should be able to have both. But then again, if you could, I might not be a non-smoker now.

Mike! you got it. Yup, the perfect resolution is to resolve not to make any!
Resolutions are just a pain in the lower rear end of the human torso anyway.
