Why the TV ratings season finishes so early I dont know, the schools dont finish till 21st december, most go on holidays after that.

So now we get to suffer with the reject TV programs.

I thought 'Will and Grace' and 'Just shoot me' had finished, but alas there still going and now I know why they werent on during the ratings season, they are way past there due date!

And this Arrested Developement, I'd heard a lot about this , so I thought it might be one of the gems over summer, oh contrare, it is so VERY VERY bad!!!, I have to tune in to ep 17 however ( ethan phillips is in it ;))

We get to suffer through the canned laughter of 'Hope and Faith','That 70's show' ,'According to Jim' and other forgetables. Some of these shows play the canned laughter when theres nothing remotely funny happening, someone will open a door and you hear the virtual audience crack up ?!?!?!?

Time to watch Voyager, ENT and DS9 again from start to finish.

One good thing is that Channel 7 are still screening current episodes of Stargate, I hope this is because they plan to show Atlantis when the rating season starts up again in February

Ahh, canned laughter. My children often ask what that sound is (the laugh-track) when they watch the t.v. with us.

I've lost faith in much of what TV brings out that I usually just watch DVD's and cable. I am looking foward to January when 24 starts again. Also, I have gotten into the Amazing Race, which deserves the emmy because it is the best reality series out there.

The worst thing about the laugh track is they sometimes bring it on if the sitution isn't funny. Most of that new show Listen Up is that way.

It's funny, I saw on a TNG episode that TV eventually became extinct as a form of entertainment, and at the time I thought it was impossible. Over recent years though, I have found how it's not only possible, but very likely.

Let's face it people, for the most part TV is crap. There are still a few good shows, but thanks to MTV's "Real" World and "Survivor" these "reality" TV shows are taking over the airwaves and will eventually cause the demise of TV entertainment as it continually gets more asinine and embarassing to the point that nobody will admit to watching it, and eventually get disgusted with themselves for spending all that time watching someone's first date or remodeling thier bathroom and realize they haven't spent enough time on thier own reality. I am afraid that the age of intelligent stories and good acting on TV is coming to an end.

I liked it when some shows were taped before a live audience. It's a scream to see Lucy and Desi go off-character a bit, and the entire audience is in stitches!
