Don't let the moderators intimidate you. I believe you are 100% correct wrt the situation in Falluja - which is pretty much Iraq in microcosm. Wicheta: Yes some foreign fighters (terrorists) took up an opportunity to base themselves in Falluja and some foreigners might have been brutally murdered by them there. However these people were there for one reason only - and only that reason - to attack the USA and her "friends". It is dubious that they even dare what happens in Iraq or to Iraqis. The USA spin doctors have claimed connections between these foreign criminals and indigenious "insurgents" and resistance fighters and Baathist die hards. I am yet to see any convincing evidence that such connections are widespread or exist. The coallition may have won the invasion and may be winning in major battles, but it seems to many (including me) that they will most loose the war longerterm and loose the peace unless significant changes are made to "policy" at the very highest level. |

Personal Response "Don't let the moderators intimidate you?" ![]() Somerled, Gvok told a joke. I responded with a joke based on his joke. Lighten up ... ![]()
A cursory reading of information in the news about Fallujah before the recent action by the Marines will show a city under siege. The residents who stayed throughout the 8 months said it was common to be arrested and held for days or to be executed for the most minor offenses. Many spent their time huddled in basements or in their homes not daring to come out. Reporters talked of posters on walls threatening executions for things like women failing to coverup properly while walking in public or for a market stall placed in the wrong spot. These stories are all over the news here and come from news sources the world over. Either the Australian press is severely censored (doubtful) or you haven't seen contrary information because you just don't want to look. End of Personal Response |

No, she made it up out of whole cloth. Seriously, do you tune out reality, Somerled? You've let your bias cloud your judgment on everything when it comes to this war. |

Somerled, The moderators are not intimidating. They are quite good at doing their jobs here. If they wanted to intimidate you, I think it would be quite clear that this was occurring.
