Today it finally sunk below freezing in the Bay Area. My car actually had frost on it this morning!

It's so funny too, people here are so sensitive! It's around 45(F) this morning, and people are complaining about how cold it is!!!

Being from Nebraska, I can't help but find it very funny. I have to remind them, "No, freezing is 32 and below. It's like 45." They don't appreciate it very much though.

It's also interesting once the body becomes acclimated. Odd how 30 degrees (after days of 0-10 degrees) really does feel warm!

True enough. Probably explains how people have been able to settle just about every corner of the planet. I always wondered why someone would want to live in Siberia or Alaska, especially before technology. Answer: It's not so bad once you get used to it.

From what i hear, there is no USA, but this is all really just Canada.

I don't know where you heard that.

Wishful thinking on your part maybe  :P

It just seems that all the time, somebody is pointing out that this guy is a Canadian or Canadians invented this or that. I have always taken it as a sign of an inferiority complex, but lately I have been questioning the actual existence of the USA and thinking that perhaps we are really just Canada. Actually, that's not entirely accurate, I was really just trying to amuse Fes. ;)

And amuse Fes you did. I still maintain that no Canadian has ever invented anything.

But they sure could make incredibly talented Bach interpreters (Gould). :)

Well, there is that weird sport where people sweep ice to make a puck keep moving. :headscratch:

Don't quite get it.

Funniest thing, though. Hockey was invented in the States, and only later exported to Canada. It's quite ironic that the majority of NHL players are almost always (year-to-year) Canadians, rather than Americans.

Yeah, but you guys had balls attached to tall poles and were trying to throw baskets over them. We got it right and made it a real sport with fighting and everything.

Isn't is sad about that, though? Man, I can't believe that that occurred recently. I could understand it in baseball or hockey, but basketball and football? C'mon!

I can understand it in all of those sports.

But, I think that in curling it would probably be the worst because they have brooms and large stones.

It's been really cold in the Bay Area. Yesterday I didn't want to get up because it was so cold.
