It seems that the economy grew faster than expected for the third quarter.

Titled: Economy Grows Faster Than Expected in 3Q.

Enjoy the boom.

This can't be! I thought we were living in the worst economic climate ever? That's what the papers tell me. :)

AB, the article just says that it's growing faster then expected. they could have expected it to grow very slowly. It does not mean that the economy is good right now...

The economy is good for me, better then it has ever been. But then again I didn’t lose any fake money in the stock market in the late 90s, so I can see how it might look bad for those who did.

Cptjeff,

Question: What kinds of things would you need to see in order to believe that the economy is doing very well at the present time?

I am assuming that he would have to see:

A good economy with a Democratic administration

AND

His history teacher telling him that we have a good economy.

Perhaps I was being a bit mean.

I am kind of tired of hearing the "my history teacher, who is the wizest man in the universe, told me...." card played. While many teachers and professors are indeed very intelligent, there is a reason for the expression 'Ivory Tower Elitist".

Yes, and it is good to do one's own research, and to corroborate those findings with the findings of others. :)

Did you read the article, boy?

3.9% is outstanding growth (the average GDP growth is a hair under 2.5%).

The economy is doing phenominally well. Just because you are unwilling to see it (because you are still bent out of shape over an election you weren't old enough to vote in), doesn't mean it is so.

I was beginning to wonder about that history teacher, myself...
