Paralyzed woman walks again after stem cell therapy

I thought that this was interesting. Everybody is talking about embryotic stem cell research, even though it has never work, an in fact caused cancer and other abnomalies in lab rats. This was done with umbilical cord blood. Mike Reagan, who has done a lot of research into this because of his father, the former President, has stated many times that umbilical and adult stem cells have much better success and are safer.

CV6,

Thanks for posting this information. The article was really positive. Maybe this will indeed be a breakthrough.

I'm in favor of any and all stem cell research- because it results in things such as these.

BTW, last year in science class our teacher showed us a vidio on embrionic stem cell research- they can make fully functional noses, complete with nerves and sesory organs in labs....
Plastic surgery is forever changed...

My point is that all of it works tword the same goal- and it all works. (well, it will work)- all we have to do is research and improve upon ourselves.

Both types work. a brand new, never been worn, nose from embyonic stem cells (cancer free too) and umbilical cord stem cells help to cure a paralized women.

Speak softly, and carry a 57 megaton stick!
That's all well and dandy as long as you use umbilical stem cells ONLY. I cannot see how one can call the cultivation of human fetuses for harvesting of cells ethical.

Well they are using fertized eggs that would never be in use, and therefore the eggs would have been destroyed. Either way the fetus will be destroyed.

Do you really think there are enough of those eggs out there to help the whole country, much less the whole world? That is despite the fact that I think that the creation of fertilized eggs that will probably be destroyed anyway is wrong unto itself.
