Maybe... but you have to admit that "manifesto" has a negative connotation to it, which is why it generated my comments. In addition, the name of this new party. Any basis in reality?

I just read their "manifesto": Pure leftist, UN-kissing swill from a party that does not believe in self-determination or national sovereignty.

Manifesto doesnt have any negative conotation to me no, anyhow yes I dont agree with the manifesto either which is why I wouldnt be voting for them. In my first post I outlined why I would oppose them.

That's because you don't loathe Socialism and Communism as I do.

That isnt true and it is a reoccuring slur on people of the centre left. If your talking about the kind of socialism/communism of the old USSR or the eastern bloc countries, or North Korea I have as much hatred for that as you. If you think things Liberals campaign for; democracy, human rights, the environment, freedom and diversity - these were all things those regimes denied or abused. Why would you ever think I wouldnt loathe them, that would be like me suggesting you wouldnt loathe Hitler.

Because the left seems to forgive a lot of things that went on during the heyday of the old Soviet Union, that's why.

Indeed. Memories of many negative things (Soviet or otherwise) are often forgotten with the passing of time. This is very unfortunate. ;(

n. pl. manˇiˇfesˇtoes or manˇiˇfesˇˇtos

A public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions, especially of a political nature.

The Declaration of Independence could very easily have been called the Manifesto of Independence.
