All because of one episode? It seems a bit extreme that one episode can ruin a comedy as good as that.

Well this series finale managed to pull it off.

I didn't like Sienfeld and rarely watched any of the episodes. I did see the season finale and it rated as one of the worst season finales I have ever seen.

Even today when I hear that idiotic theme music for the show, I race to the remote to change the channel as fast as I can.

How that series can be considered one of the best sitcoms ever, is beyond me.

Here ! here !

I think it was all the spin by the 1/2 wits who run the networks that convinced people it was supposed to be good.

Horses for courses I guess . Mind you - I am not a fan of ANY SICOMs except maybe some pommy ones (pommy ones ARE actually funny and cleavour) or local ones.

Because it was the most intelligent and funny sitcom to come out of america.

There were other good ones, but Seinfeld had more jokes packed into the 23 minutes.

Other Good ones:

Mash - but that was story as well as comedy

Frazier - was intelligent, but was more witty than belly laugh funny

Friends - more a soap than a comedy

Most others seem to be dumbed down so they can reach the widest possible audience, like Raymond, My Wife and Kids, Cheers

You want hell funny!, for those of you that havent seen it rent out or buy Black Adder II ( Rowan Atkinson -British TV series), the funniest sitcom ever IMO

Actually I forgot about Drew Carey, that was also funny.

So my top three american sitcoms would be:

Seinfeld
Drew Carey

and errr......errr....nah, theres not a third one that made me laugh as much as those two

I liked Frasier and Seinfeld. I'd have to say the top three all-time would have to be I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, and All In the Family. Just MHO. ;)

Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
I watched a couple of years of Seinfeld in the beginning but lost interest. It just got to be kind of repetative and predictable. Seinfeld and his buddies are going to make a mountain out of a molehill about something and take high-pitched incredulous sounding voices to be funny.

I liked Cheers, though I never got into Frasier (I had sort of given up on network TV during Frasier)
I liked that sitcom Wings (as well as the Discovery Channel airplane show of the same name).
I like the earlier seasons of MASH.
The Simpsons and King of the Hill
Never really been into any of the hour long dramas (except, of course The Dukes of Hazzard when I was 10).
