On Fri night :

Our Channel Ten is having a Seinfeld special, bloopers, interviews etc, followed by a Seinfeld Marathon , this goes from 7.30 pm to 6am the next morning. I think this is the first time I seen one of our free to air stations hols such a marathon

Roughly the same time

Our Channel Nine is showing 'The Colour of War' a doco that shows the events of the Australian and New Zealand troops through all major conflicts of last century, real footage, narrated by Russell Crowe. This I really really wanted to see.

I really like Seinfeld, and wanted to see the bloopers, but I was also really looking forward to the doco ( which had been advertised for a couple of weeks ).

I'm going out Fri night, I could ask someone else to tape the other one, but not always a guarantee

Which one should I tape?

Not being a Seinfeld fan - I would be watching another channel. In fact TEN is a write-off Friday night - all night !

The War Documentary is a repeat - it was on ABC at one stage and will probably be repeated on another channel on or about ANZAC DAY. (Colour of War it is called.)

I wont be watching either - for me it's choice between :
- attending the University of Newcastle Astronomical Society Meeting and Xmas party - hey amateur astronomers and physicists (pros) are very funny people when they've had a few drinks !) haven't been along to this club or the Astronomical Society of the Hunter for a long while and it would be nice to renew old acquaintances (and maybe pick a few brains on my telescope project),
- and / or a Square Dance Xmas Party / Dance (either up at Raymond Terrace , or at Gosford - a hard choice ! both will be great nights, though the dance at Gosford has the better caller ) ,
- or I might wonder up Nobbys or Stockton BW or Stockton Beach and have another crack at the big-ones - now the winds and sea have eased. Water temp is still a little cool (19 C).

---> any case I can have pretty dammed good evening and lot of fun for a few dollars .

Choices ! Choices !

I don't plan on watching TV Friday night if I can avoid it.

I might tape ICE AGE - hopefully the sabertoothed squirrel cartoon will be included - it was the best part of the whole movie.

I used to be a sienfeld fan until I saw the final episode. How can a show so great end with a complete destruction of every single major character on that show. Now whenever I watch the show, I think of that final episode and it makes me want to change the channel. This is the only show I know of where the series finale single-handedly ruined the entire show for me.

Mike,

The final episode was basically a simple good sameritan violation turned into what the people have done in society for the last nine years. It was basically a clip show with people like the women who sienfeld stole the bag from, the Soup Nazi, Bubble Boy, Stienbrenner, and others who came to testify about the damage Sienfeld, George, Kramer, and Elaine have caused through out the shows run. That premice right there qualified as a bombshell for the show to the point where I don't like the series any more.

All because of one episode? It seems a bit extreme that one episode can ruin a comedy as good as that.

I didn't like Sienfeld and rarely watched any of the episodes. I did see the series finale and it rated as one of the worst series finales I have ever seen.

Even today when I hear that idiotic theme music for the show, I race to the remote to change the channel as fast as I can.

How that series can be considered one of the best sitcoms ever, is beyond me.
