Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
I can't believe that either of you feel the need to justify yourselves before this accusation. What you do with respect to charity is your own business as far as I am concerned.

Just another opportunity to show that AB is full of hot air.

AB, this is YOUR comment: "Why is it that you blue staters never give to charities? Hmmm?" Which is to say, why do people in "blue" states NEVER give to charities?

Which, as you know is BS. All kinds of people give to all kinds of charities. Where do you get this nonsense that only conservatives give to charities?

BTW: Still waiting for that data you mentioned.

I will probably regret this, as I think you're setting me up by somehow discrediting my charity and/or the charities I give to, but since you asked nicely:

Interreligious Task Force on Central America. http://www.irtfcleveland.org/

Union of Concerned Scientists. http://www.ucsusa.org/

Habitat for Humanity. http://www.habitat.org/

Meals on Wheels in Santa Rosa. http://www.mealcall.org/meals-on-wheels/ca/santa-rosa.htm

KPFA listener sponsored radio. http://www.kpfa.org/

I am sure most of these will not meet with your approval. But I did want to show I put my money where my mouth is, supporting freedom from military suppression trained in Ft. Benning, GA in Central America, research regarding the changing environment, reducing homelessness, helping seniors and making sure reliable factual information untainted by advertiser money is released. I donate time and work as well as money to more than one of these organizations.

I already posted the data. You're just too lazy to scroll back in the thread.

You're right, I don't approve of any of the organizations you give to, but then again you wouldn't approve of mine.

I hope you'll have the decency to retract your unfounded accusations. I'm willing to bet that I will recieve no response however

Whatever floats your boat, Sparky.

Still pathetic, though, how you lefties are all up in arms about charitable giving. :wave2:

I personnally donated $50,000.00 to a pro-life charity, $28,000.00 to local radio station, $85,000.00 to my alma-mater, $12,500.00 to a youth atheletics league last year.

Who's up in arms? I was offended because you made the broad generalization that liberals don't ever give to charities. Which is complete BS. I don't feel any need to justify it, I was asked, so I answered. I didn't expect the admiral to admit he's wrong about this, he never admits he was ever wrong about anything. But the record speaks for itself.

I'm sorry AB, I looked again for your link but couldn't find it. Would you mind kindly posting it again? Thanks, you're such a nice guy.

To be fair, from the article posted:

One of the complaints was that the 19 blue states won by Kerry are "donor states" to the red states, meaning they give more in taxes to the federal government than is returned in the form of grants and services.

"Ninety percent of the red states are welfare-client states of the federal government," Lawrence O'Donnell, a political analyst at MSNBC said on "The McLaughlin Group" last weekend.

O'Donnell, who has argued for secession, told the Washington Times the red states that went to Bush "collect more from the federal government than they send in. New York and California, Connecticut — the states that are blue are all the states that are paying for the bulk of everything this government does, from ... Social Security to everything else, and the people in those states don't like what this government is doing."

So blue states are actually giving more and receiving less from the federal govt, and many of these red states are welfare clients and recieve much aid from blue states.

Nice spin, AB!!!
