Columbo was originally a series. Years later they brought it back as a series of movies or movies of the week or whatever. I never saw Kate loves a mystery, but I did see some reruns of Mrs. Columbo, hence the reference. I don't know that she smokes, only that it sounds like she does. I don't like her voice, N'uff said. Anyway, to the point of the thread... |

Please provide proof of this. The films were based on the 1968 film, Prescription: Murder, starring Peter Falk, Gene Barry, and Nina Foch. If there was a series before this (or between 1967 and 1972), I would like to know about this. Thank you. |

http://www.columbo-site.freeuk.com/ Here is some information. I wonder if it was technically considered a series. |

^^^ Ian, Thanks. I don't think it ever was a series. I recognize several of the titles, and all of them that I recognize were either 1.5 hour films, or two-hour films. But I was curious if anything other than the films was ever done. Thanks.

Columbo was part of the NBC Mystery Movies that used to be on weekly. The movies could be considered a series as they came under the same heading. They had a rotating format with familiar characters coming back every week. |

^^^ Minuet, I can accept that. It's just that I've never thought of Columbo as a series before.

Despite my general dislike for Voyager, I always liked Captain Janeway. She's a great role model for young girls and women as she commands with authority, but is not a dictator. She cares about those under her command, but runs a tight ship. I also like Mulgrew because she reminds me so much of Katherine Hepburn, another great role model for women. Strong and principled, she remained a very powerful figure in the motion picture industry until her death, and even after. |

Here here! I have noticed recently though, that Janeway is becoming the James Bond of Trek, with loads of cheesey one liners! |

Get used to it Welsby. There's plenty where that came from in Voyager. But each show is a bit different than the rest. Voyager seems to be more for the reality TV generation. |

True, after the seriousness of DS9, I think that the light heartedness of Voyager was probably welcome for some. |

Yeah, i agree. Actually i was howling earlier when at the end of Random Thoughts, Seven came to see Janeway without 'knocking' on the door, and after Seven started talking, Janeway sai "Come in", after the conversation finished, seven walked off, after she had gone, the look on Janeway's face was priceless! "Dismissed"!
