One of the things I am liking about watching Star Trek again was the fact that instead of using aliens that looked too human, they were using monsters in some of thier episodes. For example, they would use the Gorn, or the Jellyfish things from Operation: Anahillate. Other sci-fi shows I have seen use monsters in thier shows (Farscape being a clear example) but isn't it time for trek to bring back CGI monsters? I have never understood why they got rid of the idea from the first series to TNG. Was it just too old and wouldn't sell? |

I don't know if they had the budget to do it well in TNG. Interestingly, Star Wars has tons of awesome monsters, and Trek hardly has any. I think it's time we saw some crazy beasts in Enterprise on par with the Star Wars monsters. |

But it just wouldn't be the same, no creativity. Of course creativity is something lacking in all TV these days but I digress. |

I think they should start using light-sabers on Enterprise. |

There were many things in DS9 we never saw. One of the great inside jokes was all the similes they made with animals or objects we never saw. I wish I could give an example, but watch every episode and they would make a reference. |

Gdog, As I've mentioned on a couple of occasions, Star Trek didn't scrape by when it came to special effects and make-up. I would still take the work of Wah Chang, Gerd Oswald, and Gene Coon (to name only a few) over any of the people whom worked with the other five series. |

Ah, I think they could have done better for the FX shot of Who Mourns for Adoneis though. Just a thought. |
