Somerled - if neither term is used all that much, even in your country, then why the heck did you use the terms on this board.

I will ask you nicely in future to try to use language that is easily understood by all members of this board.

I rarely drink,
I rarely socialize.
I never mix the two.

I'm a three beer man. Get drunk off the first, spill the second and give the third away.

When I socialize, I do still drink but very rarely and only in the presence of people I really trust. As I have somewhat trashed my system when it comes to drink so even a small amount now can have very scary consequences for me.

I LOVE to socialize! Drinking alcohol is a problem tho. I have to have only ONE drink and time it just right so it doesn't interfere with daily medication that I take. But I CAN occasionally have one drink. Otherwise it's fruit juice for me.

Speak softly, and carry a 57 megaton stick!
Why do people insist on flavoring their vodka? I myself prefer the cheap vodka, the kind that can second as drain cleaner in an emergency.

Wouldn't it be easier to have a poll that asks if you are a non-drinker, a light drinker, a moderate drinker, or a heavy drinker?

This way the colloquialisms don't confuse the rest of the readers.

I agree. Being a non-drinker I don't understand half of those choices so I didn't vote.

You're not alone, it would seem that everybody but the Aussies are in the dark about the meanings of the terms, and even they are arguing about their meaning. :rotfl:
