I love those earlier models (like those shown in Where No Man Has Gone Before and The Man Trap; I think Andrea held one as well in What Are Little Girls Made Of? :)) But the phasers in the early episodes (beginning with no. 3) barely edge that one out. ;)

I wish! There are a few I would like to turn bright red and then have them disappear!

Yes. And the episode gives us a few valuable lines concerning the Prime Directive, too. :)

I always figured the Prime Directive as a TNG invention. I just watched Return of the Archons, and heard the first? mention of the Prime Directive in Star Trek.

The prime directive really became a nausense in TNG. I think they just over did it with that.

Indeed. It seemed like every TNG episode was Picard wrestling with the Prime Directive. Sometimes it was very good, but too much of a good thing..........

What really didnt make sense about the Prime Directive was that in one ep they could bend it without any retribution, but a couple of eps later, they let large numbers of people die cos they couldnt budge on it

I know, very confusing.

Has anyone ever wanter to see a Starfleet ship and crew sacrificed to uphold the Prime Directive

I am so happy that Capt. Kirk never broke the Prime Directive. That would have been horrible had he done that!

I keep on hearing all this about Kirk can just kick ass or take no prisoners but watching the series, Kirk is nothing like that. I would say he is a cross between Picard and Sisko.

^^^ You have only seen season one. He gets tougher in the later shows.

He is also the undisputed expert at talking computers into self destructing
