Discussions in another thread about the lack of humour in ENT, made me think about its funniest moment, then all the Funniest moments from the other series. We've had a thread or two before about th efunniest moenst in a series, but I dont think we've had one for across the board. So tell us the trek moments that made you crack up for the right or wrong reasons in the series and movies......... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mine: The Movies: I know we've definately done this before, but anyway...... Noteable mentions: Nuclear Wessels in IV Too much LDS in IV "Please Captain, Not in front of the Klingons" in V "Those are not his knees" in VI "So, you're all astronauts on some kind of star trek" in VIII "Are you're boobs firming up" in IX (Data not Crusher) TOS The computer in Tommorrow is Yesterday Turnabout Intruder McCoy: My dear girl, I am a doctor. When I "peek," it's in the line of duty. Shore Leave TNG Picard finding out what a horgon is in Captains Holiday Vash - "Is it for someone you love" Picard - "Oh, I wouldnt go that far!" Picard: Abort autodestruct. Computer: Riker William T, do you concur? Riker: Yes, absolutely, I do indeed concur wholeheartedly! Picard: A simple "yes" would have sufficed. Where Silence has Lease DS9 Rom teaching Quark to walk as a woman in Profit and Lace Bashir: They broke seven of your transverse ribs and fractured your clavicle! Garak: Ah, but I got off several cutting remarks which no doubt did serious damage to their egos. Way of the Warrior Garak: Kiss the girl, get the key! They never taught me that in the Obsidian Order! Our Man Bashir Voyager Most of Message in a bottle "At ease, Ensign, before you sprain something" -- Janeway (Caretaker) "It appears we have lost our sex appeal, Captain" -- Tuvok (Elogium) "Facial art... ooh, how... wilderness of you!" -- Q to Chakotay (Death Wish) "And *you*...Mr. Leisure Suit..." -- Rain Robinson "There's a name I haven't considered..." -- The Doctor (Future's End Pt. II) Paris coughing up his tongue in Threshold ( funny but for the wrong reasons) ENT Zobral: Ah! You're going to enjoy this. Archer: What is it? Zobral: Blood soup. Zobral: I don't usually eat this well, but I promised your captain an exceptional meal. Trip: What are these, uh, little chunks? Zobral: The essence of the male, chopped, and seasoned. Well, this is a tall order. I'll give it a go though. TOS: I can't remember the episode, but it was whe n Kirk told Spock he was becoming more human, and Spock replied something like "Really, captain. I see no reason to stand here and be insulted" Then, he leaves! TNG: Most of the Q episodes - "I am not a merry man!" Nemesis - Riker: "Not very chatty" After the Viceroy cuts Picard off on the viewscreen. Picard talking about his undying love for Lwaxana in order to save her from... I think it was Bok. DS9: O'Brien and Bashir saying how they love there partners, but like each other a little bit more in, i think it was Invasie Procedures. Rocks and Shoals: O'Brien: "Oh no!" Sisko: "What?" O'Brien: "I tore my pants" Sisko: "You did what?" (Laughing) O'Brien: "I tore my pants. I guess i'm really in trouble now" Or something like that. VOY "Get the Cheese to sickbay!" ENT Trip: "If this is what they call a recreation facility, we might wanna ask for our plasma back" - Dead Stop. |

There was one episode in which Dr. Crusher was teaching Data how to dance in the holodeck and she tells him not to look at her feet, but to look like he was enjoying himself. So, then Dr. Crusher has to go to sickbay or something and Data gets a holographic dance partner and as the scene closes we see Data dancing with the holo-chick with the goofiest smile on his face. I still laugh when I think of that image. There was an episode of Voyager, Memorial I think, when Chakotay, Paris and Neelix return from scanning planets, Chakotay is going over the logs with Janeway and they talk about coming across a trader or something. They show this alien guys picture on the screen and he has this big stupid smile on his face. Janeway looks at Chakotay and says "Photogenic" with a smirk on her face. For some reason, I thought that was hilarious. Then there is Scotty in ST IV when after hearing Sulu remark about how impressive the Excelsior is he says "Aye, and if me grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon". Still trying to figure that remark out, but it was funny. Riker shaves in Insurrection and Data takes notice. Riker says "smooth as an android's bottom". Data feels his face and shakes his head no. Perhaps I am a wierdo. |

CP - I know everyone hates Threshold, but I caught it on my local station yesterday and there was a line at the end that was quite funny. Paris was trying to apologize to Janeway for kidnapping her and "you know", her reply was "What makes you think it was your idea?" I'm suprised you couldn't come up with a lot more from TOS. The entire episode of "The Trouble With Tribbles" (And I should add that "Trials and Tribbulations" from DS9 had it's share of one liners) One of the best scenes in Tribbles was when Kirk is trying to find out what started the fight and Scotty says he did not fight when they insulted Kirk, but did when they insulted the Enterprise. The look on Kirk's face was priceless.

Lots in each series, but I'll try to narrow it down to one each: TOS: Hello computer? Just use the keyboard. Keyboard. How quaint. TNG: Data's poem, Ode to Spot DS9: I too have to go with the torn pants scene in Rocks and Shoals. Damn that's a great episode! VGR: The salamander thing in Threshold ENT: In Shadows of P'Jem, when T'Pol and Archer are trying to get out of the ropes, T'Pol falls on him, her *ahem* chest on his face!

Yes, its all probably not for the right reasons, but I do chuckle when I see that ep. What gets me giggling the most is when Paris coughs up his tongue, and then for the next 10 mins has to talk with a serious lisp - even though its not supposed to be funny, it cracks me up |

A few from the movies-- STII- Aboard Regula 1 readying to beam down to the planetoid McCoy: Where are we going? Kirk: Where they went. McCoy: What if they went nowhere? Kirk: Then this will be your chance to get away from it all. After returning to Enterprise Kirk (to Spock): That young man is my son. Spock: Fascinating. (more deadpan than usual) STIII Breaking McCoy out of jail Kirk (making the Vulcan hand greeting): How many fingers am I holding up? Kirk: You're suffering from a Vulcan mind meld McCoy: That green blooded sonofa**tch! It's his revenge for all those arguments he lost! |

Oooh, i just thought of another from DS9 that had me howling. When Worf and Ezri were captured by the Breen and Damar breaks them out, they start running throught the corridors of the Breen ship and Worf gets shot in the leg and goes down. Worf: Ugh! Leave me! Ezri: Oh, shut up! She helps him up, and run off! |

How about the end of Looking for Par'Mach: "Forget it, I'm going to stop asking that question altogether. People will just come in, and I will treat them, no questions asked." |

Bashir! Here's the lines leading up to it: Bashir: "A broken clavicle, two broken ribs, numerous bruises and contusions, what HAVE you been doing?" Quark: "You mean.......what have WE been doing? HAHAH OWWW!!" Bashir: "Right, I don't really need that image running around in my head." *Worf and Jadzia walk in, desheveled* Bashir: "What happened to you two?" Jadzia: "Well, if you must know........." |

The violence involved in Klingon *ahem* intimacy isn't followed up on too much later. It would be kind of funny to see Jadzia show up in the infirmary from time to time limping, and Bashir going  not again! |
