I am happy for two reasons. Firstly this post marks the 200th post in the happiness thread!

Secondly I got two books I needed for my course at record bargin prices at a second hand bookshop. They would have originally been around £30 each but I got them for £7.99 each. By bank manager is happy too!

try using Dawn dish detergent.

Why do college textbooks have to be so expensive?

I don't know! It's rediculous really. I suppose maybe its because the books are not really in demand and they have to make a profit somewhere. My Dads an engineer and some of his technical books are a hundred pounds or more!

and at the end of the semester when they buy them back, they pay you a lot less to buy back the book than for what you paid for it.

That's if they take them back. Up here at ICCC, if they aren't going to use them the next semester, they won't buy them back, so you're stuck with them.

I say it's a conspiricy. We need these books, the publisher can charge us anything for it, because we need them in order to take the class, then they give us back about half of what we payed. It's a conspiricy I say ;)
