You caught me…you now know my shame. I am swayed by candidates according to how thick and luxurious their hair is. |

"Clintonian" is used to describe when someone tells a big whopper, as in "a lie of Clintonian proportions." I'm long over that gutless coward, Clinton, even though he DECIMATED MY MILITARY and caused needless hardships for those in uniform. Hey, if your hero was so popular, why is it that he NEVER RECEIVED THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULAR VOTE? (43.3% in 1992, 49.8% in 1996). If Ross Perot hadn't come along, people would have said, "Bill Who?" That "washed up actor," for whom you still carry a chip on your shoulder, ENDED THE SOVIET UNION WITHOUT FIRING A SHOT. His policies put Communism on the ash heap of history, where it RIGHTLY BELONGS. |

Sisko, if you truly knew what Bill Clinton did to the military, you'd get steaming mad every time the subject of "Clinton's military" was brought up. |

Enlighten me. I am aware there were budget cuts, and given that there's a base in just about every corner of the globe, I don't see that as being a major problem. Then again, I'm not military. |

No, there isn't a base in every corner of the world. We haven't had anything like that since the end of WWII. What Clinton's cuts did was cause things like bullets to not be available for combat troops. That's right... bullets. The way to stay sharp (and maintain your shooting qualification) is to practice. Marines under Bill Clinton had to buy their own ammo if they wanted to practice because not enough was available. Did you know that aircraft carrier groups deployed undermanned? A Nimitz class carrier normally has 6,000 men. In the late 90s, partially due to budget constraints and mostly due to the fact that Clinton cut pay and benefits, driving servicemen and women away, carriers sailed with 80% berthings. I know of submarine patrols that were canceled because of budget cuts. You may argue, "The Cold War is over" but that hasn't stopped the Russians or the Chinese from deploying their subs to our territorial waters. It tends to rankle a submariner to know that the Russians have an Akula class sitting IN CHESAPEAKE BAY and you can't do squat about tracking it. Bill Clinton, to distract attention from his testimony during his impeachment, fired Tomahawk missiles at "terrorist targets". He depleted most of our stock of TLAMs (Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles) without replacing it, leaving the Air Force and Navy to convert TLAM-A missiles (nuclear-tipped warheads) to TLAM-C (high explosive) and -D (cluster) configurations. He decommisioned an entire class of guided missile destroyers (the ones protecting the carrier groups... the actual last line of defense) because they were nuclear powered. Actually, they were the only cruisers that could escort a carrier because they were the only ones who could KEEP UP! (Without going into details, let's just say that an aircraft carrier can exceed 33 knots.) He used the United States military as a friggin' social experiment. That rankled everyone. First it was gays in the military, then it was women on ships (never mind that the maternity rate was over 50%). Then it was that red light-green light crapola. Bill Clinton loathed the military, but used it whenever it suited him. |

I'll have to respond to the other accusations later, but wasn't that attack on Afghanistan after the Al Qaeda boming of the Nairobi Embassy? I think it goes a bit further than trying to distract othes from his trial that was distracting him from doing his job. |

These aren't accusations, these are facts. In addition, the Nairobi Embassy was bombed in 1996, wasn't it? Clinton's impeachment trial was in 1998. |

As I understand it, there were intelligence reports that Al Qaeda was in the area. I understand that Clinton was trying to break up a lot of the "old boy" networks during his administration, I can see how people in the military wouldn't take kindly to that by allowing women and gay men to serve too. Not being in the military, I guess it's something I can't relate to. I wouldn't have a problem serving with women and gay people. |

as for the miliatary- just about anything that the pentagon buys is bought at a really bloated prices. The F-22 costs nearly 10 times as mutch as the european equivilent. same technoligy- just bulit by different companys- and the US ones are corrupt. |

Umm, the F-22 is far better then anything flying in the world right now. The technology being used is far superior then that of anything flying in the world. The companies that create these planes are responsible for much of the R&D that goes into these technologies. R&D costs money, money that is made up in the cost of the plane. |

There is nothing like the F-22 in the air today... Here's a bit on its EW capabilities - both current and future Here's a note from a test pilot Specs on the F-22 - note the supercruise speed - supercruise is defined as greater than sound without afterburners Oh and the F-22 is another military program Kerry tried to cut |
