I voted yes. Before I thought he was just a waffling weasel, but now I think he's a whining waffling weasel. |

Lets just say that this ad and the opening up of old wounds from Vietnam has tarnished my feelings on the elections for both sides. |

More than anything, John Kerry's reaction to the "attack" has opened my eyes a little bit - I don't really play into the victim scene. I don't believe the "attack" is an effective recruitment tool for Republicans - I don't think that the "attack" will draw Democrats toward the Republican candidate either. |

No. Kerry's voting record in the Senate clinched it for me. ANOVA Conservative Libertarian tentative NeoObjectivist Quasi something or other. (should that be all one word?) |

What record in the Senate? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) In 19 years, not one bill ever had his name on it. He also had the chance, following 9/11, to co-sponsor a bill to create a terrorism czar. He passed. This was the same man who wanted to cut $6 billion from the Intelligence budget, but who now claims we're not spending enough. |

Not one bill? I'm sorry, but here's a link to the bills he sponsored. http://kerry.senate.gov/bandwidth/issues/legislation.html I'm sorry, but 59 of his personal bills passed, not counting his co-sponsored ones. many were reffered to various senate commitys. |

Jeff, how many of his bills PASSED? By that, and earlier, I meant how many bills turned into law, like McCain-Feingold or something similar. There is also a difference between sponsoring a bill (having your name put on it with 100 other people) and actually CREATING it. If he has (in your opinion) such a great Senate track record, WHY DOESN'T HE EVER MENTION IT? |

The chairman of the FEC yesterday (a Clinton appointee, to boot) has ruled that the Swift Boat ads can run. http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=1....8.2lI&refer=us |

I voted no. My opinion of him has never changed, he has not given me any reason to, ever. |

Kerry brought the Swift boat ads on himself! This from my favorite National Review column, Impromptus: A further word on Senator Kerry: He brought this on himself, really — all this Vietnam talk, all this Vietnam pain. He decided to make his four months in Vietnam the center of his candidacy — you could see that much at the Democratic convention. It was all "band of brothers," and "reporting for duty," and "I'm a hero," and "Elect me because I served in Vietnam — and the other guy didn't." Kerry himself "reopened the wounds of Vietnam," to use an old expression. If he's going to focus on those four months, and not his anti-war activism, and not his time as Dukakis's lieutenant governor, and not his 20 years in the U.S. Senate — we're going to have a Vietnam-centered election contest. Which is too bad — but Kerry chose it. And now the Democrats are demanding — including in their TV ads — that we all "get back to the issues"! Now! Senator Kerry, despite your actions in the Senate and on the campaign trail, you really can NOT have it "both ways." |

No, not really. My opinion of Kerry over the last several months has been shaped via other means. |

While on the topic of Swift boat ads, has anyone aside from me noticed that when the media mentions this group, they always seem to be the "conservative Swift Boat Veterans" or something similar? I never hear Moveon.org described as liberal or radical or Clintonian... It is just like the media discussing the religious right while ignoring the religious left. Hmmm... |

I don't think I ever heard anything described as Clintonian. Who says that? It seems strange to me that there is still as much Clinton bashing now as when he was in office. Why do you guys bother? Are you still upset that a democrat was so popular he had 8 years of presidency and without contraversy over his election? Get over it. Democrats have gotten over the fact that a washed up actor who co-starred with a chimp was a popular president and served 8 years, you should get over Clinton. |
