I voted no. I plan on voting for Kerry in November. The SBVFT advertisement seems like a smear campaign and therefore does not seem credible to me.

Time to put something here
I voted No, I don’t like Kerry before or after.

They can't all be republicans plotting against Kerry - so what they have to say does hold some weight. Not all opposition is a smear campaign, just like not all opposing the war on Iraqi are un-American.

I agree with this statement.

Huh?
Smear campaigns only work when there is truth behind them. So no it has not changed my opinon of Kerry. If anything his stance on issues has changed my opinion.

Smear campaigns rarely change anyone's minds, they just lower the bar and set the stage for more mud slinging. Sad, very, very, sad indeed.

I voted no as well. I had my mind made up for me on September 12, 2001.

I wonder, and maybe this should be a separate poll... does anyone also condemn the Moveon.org ads being run?

Kind of like the way the Democrat's smear campaign against Bush's National Guard record and the focus on the Vietnam era brought on this present smear campaign against Kerry.

In answer to the poll question, no. I had a low opinion of Kerry before, and I have a low opinion of him now. I am more interested in what he would do in the Oval Office were he elected and as far as I can tell, he doesn't even know. I get the impression that he would be a slave to the questionable public opinion polls and not show much 'stick-to-itiveness'.

Bush has made a decision that was supported by the majority of Americans at the time and stuck to it even though Americans have lost focus. He realizes changing course now would be bad for the US even if it benefited his political career. He has shown leadership, decisiveness, backbone, honor and character. None of these things have I seen in Kerry.

I think the reason Americans "lost focus" is that they were lied to by false reports used as the reason for the invasion. But hey, it's just a theory.

Why should it ? Surely if he was awarded the awards he was then his record stands by itself - his commanding officer must have recieved reports or observations that vindicated these awards ,and the line of command doesn't award these things lightly - or does it ?

Who cares what a bunch of old vets think about him ? Are their claims (and I'm not entirely sure what their claims are as the ad hasn't be aired here and only reported on briefly in the news (and only shown a short video byte) really that damaging to his campaign ?

I have not voted - not up to speed like you yanks are and so unable to indicate an opinion either way.

I guess it wouldn't matter to you that he actually wrote the reports himself?

Going back to Swift Boat ads and 527 organizations, I wonder how many people know that 87% of 527 organizations are Democrat? With all the hurrah made about the Swift Boat Vets, no one talks about ACT or PFAW, et cetera.

That's because Moveon.org does not directly attack anyone. no mudslinging. just policy (and a little bit of pointed commentary about it)

Doesn't attack anybody? You haven't seen the ad where they morph Bush's picture into Adolf Hitler, then?

What a pantload.
