You claim to be conservative? Thanks for putting that one to rest.

I've posted this question several times, and never gotten an answer. What would you folks cut first? Forget a tax increase. It isn't going to happen. This means that a budget can be balanced in three ways... by 1) restricting the rates of increase to less than the revenue rate increase (revenues rise during an expanding economy without a tax increase), 2) by growing our way out of deficits, or 3) by actual budget cuts.

So imagine Congress' unwillingness to reduce the rate of budgetary increase, and imagine that revenues are not growing fast enough to keep pace with budgetary growth, then what do you cut to balance the budget?

So, enough ducking and skating. WHAT WOULD YOU CUT? Be HONEST.

I am in favor of balancing the budget. If that requires raising taxes then I think we should raise taxes. You may affix any label you want on me if that makes you feel good.

Admiral - I think his point is that he would not cut spending, but increase taxes. At the same time, however, he would not increase spending. That is why he considers himself to be conservative - not liberal. He sees liberals as increasing spending as well as increasing taxes.

Actually sounds more in the middle then conservative to me - Hey Gvok, you might like it up here in Canada :wave2:

I don't consider myself a "leftist" but perhaps among this board's hyper-conservative set I would appear that way. :) :) :)

Yes, Lake Erie seems like the tropics when compared to Baffin Bay.
