Just thought you wanted to see some of the tactics some liberal activists are planning for the RNC in New York City. I never heard any conservatives advocating the use of these tactics during the DNC. Frankly, I'm shocked. |

Personal Response I'll confess to only having read a portion of that article .... Most of the WTC victims were Democrats???? A significant number of that total weren't even US citizens. Are those the ones he's counting as non-Democrats? As to potential dirty tricks, any and all violence that may or may not erupt during RNC is, of course, due to Republican operatives working undercover. End of Personal Response |

Time to put something here

I don’t know where this guy lives, but its not in my city. Now I wont lie to you and say we are a haven of love for the right, but to read what this guy wrote you would believe we are foaming at the mouth in hatred of the right. Nothing can be further from the truth. First of all like with most political things these days most people (whether they like Bush or not) don’t really give a flying rats rectum that the RNC is being held here. To tell you the truth the most I have heard on the subject is about how people are going to take their vacations the week of the convention just to get out of town (as to not have to deal with the head ach in traffic car, mass transit or pedestrian this will cause) Second of the people who will be staying and do care about politics (whether they like bush or not) most aren’t the sort to get all hot and bothered over it as apparently this guy is. No I’m sorry (and believe me this is not my like of Bush talking, commonsense will tell you his) I do not recognize the city this man is describing. It is more likely is he talking about him self and 9 of his friends (he probably doesn’t have more then 9 friends) that think they are going to make a difference giving out wrong directions and having their kids say curse words (now that is enlighten of them, teach a kid to hate and he may soon come to hate everything including you ). But in the end it wont matter, most ever one else will give the correct directions (whether they like bush or not) and will be courteous as only us New Yorkers can be (don’t mistake coldness for meanness, being cold is just our thing we don’t mean to be rude). I will tell you one thing, many people (whether they like bush or not) don’t really care that Bush is using 9/11 as a talking point for this election. The fact is it was a shining moment for him and with his words and actions he helped a lot of us out. So whether we will be voting for him in November or not we have no problems giving him his props when they are due. Bush should use 9/11 to show what kind of leader he is, because it is moments like those that really define what type of man/woman a person is. We New Yorkers saw what kind of man Bush was in those times and he was the strong shoulder we needed most. Out of the people that I have met who thing it’s a sin for Bush to even say the words 9/11 are working on judgments they made before 9/11 was even a reality, and I am saddened that these types of people are the ones people see (because they are yelling the loudest) when they look at my great city and state. It maybe true that only 18% of the voting public voted for Bush in 2000, but I can tell you today as sure as I am sitting here that the numbers are going to be much closer this year. Its hard to forget why we are at war when the crater marking the largest causality (not the first, which is also sad) is sitting at your feat. |

Dan, I don't believe that all NYC residents are frothing at the mouth loonies like Rall. That's why I was sure to use the term liberal activists. However, Rall is not just some far out voice, he is pretty much the Ann Coulter of the Left. I would also say that many of the people who will be protesting the RNC will be having the same mindset as him. So my point is, what kind of image will this give the Democrat party? Firstly, they put protesters into cowpens during the DNC, and then members publicly announce that they will attempt to sabotage the RNC. Now, I have not seen any actions like this on the part of Republicans. I know that the RNC hasn't been held yet, so not only have the actions being planned by these kooks not come to pass, but the Republicans have all the chance in the world to set up some kind of shoddy "Free Speech Zone", but as it stands right now, the Democrats seem to be taking the lead in underhanded tactics right now (unless somebody can prove me wrong). |

^^^ It seems many Leftist protester types believe the ends justify the means. If blocking streets is necessary to achieve thier goals, they'll do it. If lying about their political enemies is necessary to achieve their goals, they'll do it. If disparging their opponents is necessary to achieving their goals, they'll do it. Many will do almost whatever is necessary to achieve their goals. |

Ted Rall is an angry little (person) who dreams of a socialist utopia... just as long as he doesn't have to give up any of HIS stuff. Look for his picture under the word "hypocrite." Edit by Wichita: I have no idea what the original word meant but it sounded inflammatory. |

(side note to Wichita... it was a nonsense word that used to be used by my grandfather to describe people who wouldn't get off their tail end and get to work) As for Ted Rall, he is egging on the "anarchist chic" crowd to try a repeat of Seattle in 1999. I don't think NYPD will be as lax. I hear that they are stocking up on Ty-Raps and tear gas. I also hope they set up delousing stations. |
