I forgot to ask - Fireh8er, why did you mention 7 Brides. South Pacific is Rogers and Hammerstein, as is Oklahoma. But 7 Brides is not.

YES!!!!! The first parking meter in the world was INDEED invented in Oklahoma and was installed in OKC in 1935.

Whenever you have to run out to feed the meter, thank Oklahoma for the exercise.


Now, what kind of device would you find at the Oklahoma state capitol building that you wouldn't usually attribute to such a place.
