^^^ Again, I did not use Google. Hint: If you see that I have answered a question correctly, you can just change the order (and/or letters) of your answers to make it look like I was wrong.

Correct. During WWII, 3 American B-29's were forced to make an emergency landing in the Soviet Union. Due to Russia's non-aggression pact with Japan, they were able to keep the planes and the pilots in custody. The pilots were later released, but the planes somehow vanished. In 1947, two years after WWII ended, the Soviets had their aviation parade over Tushino Airport. Western observers were mildly interested in the Soviet's top of the line, but were amazed when they saw a familiar four engined plane flying overhead. It was a B-29. Western officials assumed that this was merely one of the B-29s interned by Soviet forces. However, this soon was proven wrong when a second, third, and finally a fourth plane flew over the field. The Soviets had reversed engineered the B-29 down to the bolts and renamed it the Tu-4. This forced Western military analysts to reconsider their estimates of Soviet industrial sophistication. New question. Which jet has the highest sustained speed on record. A. Concorde B. F-18 Hornet C. SR-71 Blackbird D. MiG-29 Fulcrum E. Boeing-747 |
