Royal Weddings; What's so facinating about them.

My wife watched that Royal wedding this afternoon , couldn't pull her away from it.

For the life of me I just do not see what the big fuss is or what's so special about these events. Sure she's a pretty girl , and they looked very happy , you don't need to watch 5 or 6 hours of rigamarrole to get the idea.

Is this something programmed in girls and women - I can't imagine anything more boring than perhaps watching the lawn grow.

What royal wedding? Shouldn't this be moved to another section, like "Kick back and put your feet up" or something?

How about a Voyager Movie
Royalty is something our Brittish friends could best explain to us. Here in the states we harrass anyone who is famous.
I remember the Charles and Diana wedding live on TV when I was 10 yrs old.
She was hot and that is about all I got out of it.

Apparently we look like this now
I dont get riled up about ANY celebrity and their lives. I personally dont care who is marrying who, etc. I'd rather watch CNN than a royal wedding.

Yeah, I don't understand the fascination either. To me, they are just people, like you and me. (Er, excluding those that have to do with Trek, of course. Then they can be idolized. ;))

For those of you that dont know, And I surprised this isnt all over the world news

Tassie ( thats the part of Australia down the bottom that looks like a #####) born Mary Donaldson married Prince Apricot Danish Today.

So we are a little more excited over here than anywhere else ( except maybe Denmark ) cos we finally will eventually have an Australian born Queen.

Somerled these are the times you get smoochie with the wife, you know gals love weddings, the pomp, the ceremony, the lavish expense - even I got sucked in for a while - although not for 6 hours.

CP,

Not a Borg Queen at all. By the image, she seems quite beautiful, actually. How long will she be Queen?

Until she gets killed in a car being chased by french photographers.

Sorry, just realised that was in rather poor taste.

Obviously it should go to the Mars versus Venus forum.

Listen Somerled, a woman marrying royalty is to women what scoring in the final of a world tournament is to men. You think just because men marry out of love the same would apply to women but that's where you're wrong. For women a royal wedding is the ultimate price, marrying a doctor or a company's president is not a bad score but nothing beats hooking a real king, that takes ambition, dedication and years of effort. Mary D. has just won this year's championship in their world-wide competition.
