Things that get a bad rap; aren't you tired of the whining?

How about a Voyager Movie
I am tired of people giving the finger to some things that I like and some things that have legitimacy in our everyday life.

Cigarettes. People cry about the harmfull efects of cigarettes. Second hand smoke kills, blah blah blah. Now most buildings are smoke free. Smokers go outside and hustle through a smoke, thus cluttering the entrance to the establishment.
Remember the so called 'Greatest Generation' as defined by Tom Brokaw? You know, th WWII era folks. The baby boomers and their parents through the 50's Americans smoked their friggin asses off. The 60's crowd made Flintstones cartoons with Fred and Barney smoking cigars. Smoking was great and hip and 'in'.
Tobacco was the key crop in the early development of America.
What will it take to stop the war against smokes, banning them worldwide?
As for the health effects, they are real, however so is bad luck and a whole host of other factors.

I like my smokes, and I''m gonna smoke 'em.

McDonald's gets the finger too much as well. Yet anytime I go there I find a huge line of patrons. Where is their voice? McDonalds has provided playplces for families like mine who can go there and let the kids have fun and play on the slides and have a burger and a shake. Shame on us if we can't exercise normally and moderate our lifestyles. :realmad:
McDonalds even panders to the criticism and is proactive in attempting to reduce health concerns. The switch from lard to vegetable oil was made during the cholesterol scare of the early nineties. Thus less deadly frenchh fries.

The menu offers salads (not just like Somerleds thread about fat grams).
The fat grams by the way don't matter lately with these low carb bullcrap diets.

Remember when Bacon and eggs where the evil?
Now it is potatoes and rice. What ever happenned to a 'Meat and Potatoes man or a 'corn fed white boy'?

Don't you have something like this that the mainstream is slinging at you that you are tired of hearing?

I find if I wait long enough everything that falls out of society's good grace winds up back in it. It seems to have passed its peak, cigar smoking was quite fashionable again just a few short years ago.

As far as my diet goes- It includes both carbs and fats (you just can't beat a really good sourdough loaf, with cheese and red wine).

Swids,

Not to mention the studies (I think?) that have shown that a little red wine is actually a good thing.... ;) ;)

Here is another one that gets a bad rap unfairly:
TECHNOBABBLE.

I love the Technobabble in recent Treks. It seems that this catch phrase is popular with the whiners who have not been writers yet fancy themselves as critics.

To keep with the trek theme, any thing having to do with ENT and weather or not it's getting cancelled.

Non-trek:

Anything have to do with Political correctness.

Time to put something here
Something that happens a lot in my neck of the woods. People who doesn’t live in the city (New York City that is). There is this mentality around here that you are a Hick if you live in the suburbs.

Specking of Hicks, not every one with a southern accent is a redneck as the media would like us to believe.

As for the ban on smoking at indoor public places - It was the best things since sliced bread around here in a long time. I’m glad you like your smokes and I wish you all the luck. I just don’t like smelling like smoke when I try to go get a drink. Its just cleaner this way

I just think our society has gotten way to politically correct, such as the prisoner abuse in Iraq.

I'm tired of the whining of certain posters who came to a particular website to get away from spam and crap, but think it is ok for them to post spam and crap and whine censorship when it is not allowed! :realmad: :wow: (gee - who could I possibly be talking about - a few names come to mind)

A Robot in Disguise

I'm sick of people bagging ENTERPRISE, its just as good as the other treks.

Posters, not just here, say its really bad and nit pick every detail, but yet still tune in every episode to watch it???

i watched "tommorow is yesterday" again tonight, great story and lots of fun.

But!, Slingshotting around the sun to go back in time????
And time going backwards at warp 8 ??? - come on!

Every trek has its little plot holes.
