Minuet:
That was what was reported here - seems he may not have been such a saint after all , and these things need to be aired - not swept under the carpet.

A lot of things are reported in tabloids like the National Enquirer too. Should they be aired as well?

So how is what passes for democracy in the USA better than we have here ?

Quite frankly, yes. (By the way, we are a "representative republic," not a democracy.) We have the freedom NOT to vote. You don't.

You have a quasi-socialist nanny state with a few of the trappings of a free market economy.

On the other hand, the US should strive to be more like Hong Kong before the return to the Chicoms.

Somerled, you asked in a previous thread what was wrong with communism. Are you that blind that you can't see what Communism has done in the past (and in the present)? Socialism and communism take power away from the INDIVIDUAL and give it to the state. This is often done at the end of a bayonet tip. (Please don't insult us with, "Then what are you doing in Iraq?" nonsense.) Let's see what Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot did to enforce a communist state. Does the name Ho Chi Minh ring a bell? What about Fidel Castro?

Socialism and communism may be "valid" forms of government, but then again so is despotism. That does NOT equate it to capitalism or even monarchy. This moral relativism on your part must stop. It just makes you look uneducated.

On the news Saturday it was stated that Nick Berg had an Israeli visa stamp on his passport.

He also used public transportation and dressed to stand out the general public, making himself an easy target.

This doesn't excuse the actions against him, I'm just trying to explain why him above other American captives.

'Beheading' website shut down <== for the best I think , not reasonable to allow people (of any age to be able view this out of some kind of goulish curiousity or for some kind of pecular fetish).

You never even watched it, Somerled....I think EVERYONE should see it. It would let every piss and moaner like you know exactly who our enemy is. It has NOTHING to do with a fetish. But then again, if you saw it, you'd probably just recognize their hoods as a legitimate military uniform. You probably cheered. What is it going to take for you to pull your head out of your ass? A major terrorist attack in YOUR country?
