Vger_art, I hope you don't have to wait that long to enjoy ENT! I like TOS and DS9 a lot, and I also like TNG and VOY, albeit not as much as the original or DS9. I think that TNG offered so much in the way of good stories and character development, and that for the most part, kept the special effects to a minimum (meaning that they never got in the way of a good story). TNG also had so much to lose at the beginning, considering the shoes it had to fill....

I think TNG is meant to be a relection of TOS, its not the same. The same basic ideas, same ship with a differnt crew calss of ship. |

True of course but back then I never knew they made such a thing as TNG untill I saw it in the TV-guide 'Star Trek TNG', nothing more. I had no idea what 'TNG' part in there meant and I actually expected to see another season with Spock, Bones and Kirk. What I got instead was a bald dwarf for a captain, a klingon enemy on the bridge of the Enterprise and there was even a shrink on board running around in pyjamas. I remember being furious for days they turned Star Trek into a "As The World Turns" space soap. Looking back, it just took a bit of getting used to watching Star Trek new style. Actually, I still think the first season wasn't that good, they just needed a season to sort things out and get it right. Kinda nice to debate TNG like this... on a Voyager forum
