I'm amazed at how jokes start, seemingly out of thin air. As we all know, John Kerry collided with his Secret Service guy on the slopes back in March (he was snowboarding). Yesterday, he fell off his bicycle. I've already heard the joke, "One more fall and he can go home" already! (For those who don't know, if you were wounded three times in Vietnam, you could go home.) On a side note: Why is it that John Kerry is into what are considered "elitist" sports? Bicycling and skiing? This was pointed out to me by one of my neighbors last night. Joe Sixpack doesn't really connect. I can't see him with a ball and glove playing catch with his entourage. I saw the football photo-op picture, but that's it. Now contrast that with Bush clearing brush on his ranch, tooling around in his slightly battered older pickup, throwing out baseballs, going to NASCAR. Will Kerry appear on WWE, or is he courting some other demographic? By the way, there is a picture of Kerry on his bike on the Drudge Report, wearing those elastic shorts, gloves, and the helmet, riding what looks like a Serotta Ottrott. (I believe they run between $4000 and $5000 apiece.) |

Who did he blame the bicycle fall on? Is Kerry the Democrat's Ford? |

"You're KILLING me, you're REALLY KILLING me" (from the movie Daddy Day Care) I'm laughing so hard I'm
Well at least this elitist falls off his bike. Bush falls off his $5000 Segway motor scooter. Wanna see? Don't move. :backsign: You guys kill me....... And oh....NASCAR isn't an expensive sport to participate in? Does the man called Bush actually own a car or does he merely use NASCAR events to campaign at?Gotta run.... with my legs.... not my Segway...... |

Guess what... I can't operate a Segway either. Throws off my equilibrium and I want to manually compensate. Bush doesn't own a Segway. It was a DEMO lender for his father. His little dog Barney was next to him, and he was holding on with one hand. Did you ever think he was trying to avoid his dog?? Didn't think so. I knew someone (figured Adrian or Sisko) would bring this up. The difference? Would John Kerry go to a NASCAR event? Would he be seen with the little people at a sporting event? He doesn't even go to baseball games (probably because his wife doesn't own the team) either. |

Have you considered that John Kerry might simply like to Ski and Cycle? Better the politican who can be himself rather than trying to pretend he is something else to please a "demographic". Any voter who chooses their President on the basis of the sports he likes must be pretty shallow anyway. |

But he IS an elitist. Did you know he has a butler on the campaign trail with him? |

And who is a populist? I haven't seen one lately. But it seems a little funny for Bush supporters to be calling Kerry elitist. Just because Bush in inarticulate does not make him a populist. Nor is he any less of an elitist than Kerry. |

Perhaps you should look up "elitist", gvok. Bush does things for himself, connects with the common man, and doesn't have a butler tagging along. In addition, Bush doesn't talk down to people in his speeches. Do you know why the so-called "NASCAR Dads" like Bush? Because he is one of them. Even recent surveys have indicated this. You just don't understand Texans, gvok. |
