A bit of stormy weather here

Speak softly, and carry a 57 megaton stick!
So I was playing a game on my PC with my headphones on, when I start to hear this high pitched whine. It went on for about 10 seconds before I took off the headphones. Turns out that the tornado sirens were blaring! I walk outside and there are black clouds to the North and South side of my house and blue in my area. I turn on the news and there is a line of severe weather moving through the state with 9 or so spinning circles where tornadoes were likely to form.

What is really strange about this is that I heard no thunder, no rain, or anything. Just 10 miles North of my hose there was baseball size hail. There was an Orientation meeting for Alpha Chi (an honor society) that I somehow talked myself out of going to. If I had gone to that meeting, I would have ended up driving through the hail.

Geez, Doc, looks like tornado season is already in full swing.
Tonight, we're supposed to have another 8" of snow. (We just had a white Easter). No one will complain too terribly much -- we need the moisture very badly as we're a few years into a drought.

Like I said, there was blue over my area, the most I got was light rain. Fortunately, I believe that any tornadoes that formed did so in unpopulated areas. This is fortunate because, according to news reports, a tornado was trying to form in a place that would have taken it over a busy highway gridlocked in rush hour traffic!
