Anyone listen to the liberal radio network, Air America? I've listened to a little of it and I'd like to hear what other people think of it.

I hear it went off the air in Los Angeles and Chicago ... something about not able to pay bills or something like that.

Yep. Front page on the drudge report. They went off the air due to "cash flow problems." Apparently, there was a bounced check involved.

They are denying those charges. I guess we'll know in a few days.

Typical. This is what my dad told me when I first registered to vote. He told me always read both sides one to see what Kerry in this case has to say and see what Bush has to say. To be honest, whenever I read papers pasing Kerry the more I go into the Bush area. Air America could be illegal, and not surprised of this.

Why would Air America be illegal?
My main complaint is that they're AM; I've never been able to tune them in. Although, if they ran out of cash it could explain some things.

Are they even on the air in your market Adrian. They started with only 5 or 6 outlets (don't know if anymore joined in the past 2 weeks).

I guess some feel that part of Air America's stated purpose is to unelect President Bush and think this bears some scrutiny.

Actually, I'm in the only region in the USA that should be covered by two of their channels (LA and Inland Empire).
No wonder nobody listens to AM.

I guess it's true what they said about the bounced check. Let's face it, they aren't a well oiled money making machine. But give em a chance to oil their engines and hopefully they'll continue to provide an alternative to the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh, Reagan, and our own local broadcasters who've jumped on their bandwagon.

I can listen to airamerica radio via the internet when I have a chance. My opinion?
No worse than anything said on conservative talk radio. Maybe they're trying to take shock to the nth degree with O Franken mimicking O Reilly. I wish Garofalo (spelling?) didn't come off as being a cynical old woman, hopefully she isn't a fan of Enterprise. I lthink Randi Rhodes is funny. IMHO, when I listen to it, it seems like a variety show infused with politics and HUMOR. It's entertainment. I've yet to hear about anyone physically wanting to hurt anybody but I don't listen 24/7. Just enough to prevent me from being indoctrinated by the other side. :D

I like the diversity of their line up though. Seems as if they're trying to reach everybody (except the rich I guess if they're checks are bouncing  ) from old men to cynical old women to rappers to homemakers indeed. Bottome line, it's entertainment. Don't quote the gospel from this network. Continue to get your news from a variety of sources. When you go to read drudgereport.com try visiting drudge.com as well and try to balance yourself out. :wow:

Anyway, I like the network, it's OK. Hopefully I can log on today, that is if they're still on air.

You asked..... :)

Air America

The link to the web page where you can hear the live broadcast (above). I listened to it for the first time yesterday. Some of it is funny, but the thing about most liberals (IMO) is that they come off as sarcastic, angry people who think they are smarter than everyone and therfore should have control over everyone.

Agreed with everything you said except the last 6 words.

But then again your desciption could be applied to conservative talk show hosts as well.

Wouldn't you agree it's nice to have a little difference of opinion and listening to it, regardless of where, than having a meaningless Amen and right on ALL the time?

I agree with you. Certainly. I'm just saying, there's something about the people I have met who call themselves liberals that is kind of annoying in a way that conservatives are not. Again, this is just my opinion. I'm not sure what it is but it has something to do with the way I described it.

BTW, this has nothing to do with liberal versus conservative political positions (or not as much to do with them perhaps). It's just a personality type I've noticed among the people I know and see in the media. That's all I'm saying.
