I'm Captain Kirk!

I was watching tv Sunday night and there was nothing on. I was too lazy to put in a DVD, so watched The Fifth Element. I wished I had gotten my butt up and put a DVD in. What is the purpose of that movie? It had pretty good special effects, but the movie was dog doo-doo!
I have had enough of Bruce Willis. He was good in the Die Hard Series. Tears of the Suns was a good movie. But this movie was pure garbage!
I wished I could go in the movie and pimp slap Chris Tucker! I wish I could get my money back! But I was watching it on tv. So for those out there who haven't seen it; steer clear of it! I give it out of

When I first saw the movie, I didn’t like it either. The colors, the costumes, the actors in these particular roles…everything about the movie was so different. It is hard to describe my reaction to the movie. However, after I watched it a few times, it really started to grow on me. The characters are extreme (in a good way) and the plot (a person being the fifth element) is very interesting IMO. The costumes, while bizarre to me at first, are funky and perfect for this movie. The movie isn't oscar material, but I do recommend that people give this movie a chance (perhaps a second or third if necessary). P.S. I had a similar reaction to Chris Tucker too. I tolerate the character now, because I like the rest of the movie. |

Don't make me use my bare hands on you.

I rented and fell asleep half way through viewing it. I didn't care to rewind and watch what I missed, so I returned the tape. What I saw, I thought was crap. |

The Director/producer whatever his name was, was going out with molovovich at the time so it may have been a ploy to hang on to her. The movie was so so, I think if they hadnt try to make part of it a comedy I would have hated it. I remember laughing at his cigarette that was 80% filter, the phone calls from his mother and the flight stewardesses. But apart from that, you're right, good effects, but was lame. Another Sc Fi movie that was a waste was that Galaxy Quest with those dorky aliens. |

^^^What!?!?!?!?!?!? You don't like Galaxy Quest! That was the best of all the Star Trek films I haven't see The Fifth Element, so I have no opinion on it. |

Come on, you gotta love Galaxy Quest! It's a parody of Star Trek! That movie was great!

Firstly, I think i suffered through Dude wheres my car just before Galaxy Quest, they both had stoopid subplots involving silly aliens, so I thought here we go again. No, I think GQ ( Galaxy quest, not the mens magazine) poked a little too much fun at trek, they hired has beens to play the leads (Tim the toolman and S.Weaver) which was part of the joke. The Aliens were annoying as hell, and the characters kept gripping about their fans and the fact that they hadnt gotten and roles after Quest. I didnt find it funny. |

24, Well, now I will have to see it in order to offer an informed opinion, seeing as though it has resulted in these differing points of view.

Sometimes I like a movie that is just plain fun, and I thought 5th Element was one of those. I don't think it was meant to be considered serious sci-fi - it is more for laughs with a sci-fi setting. Just Gary Oldman's part as Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg should be enough to prove that. If you watched as if it was a serious flick, you missed the point or have no sense of humor. |

^^^^ Alright, someone else who liked the movie. Like I said before, it wasn’t Oscar material, but it is definitely a movie worth giving a second chance too. It was a fun movie with outrageously quirky characters (Zorg, Rubyyyy Rohd and let's not forget that idiot at the beginning of the movie who tried to mug Korben Dallas ) .

I LOVE the Fifth element! I even own, only on VHS though (haven't gotten the DVD yet). I'm a huge Bruce Willis fan. That's why I watched it in the first place. I think Chris Rock does a great job too. The humor is great, the action is big, and the violence is pointless. What more could you want from a movie? Galaxy Quest rocks too. I love every little dig at our favorite show! |

^^ Is that Bruce Willis? If so, he's changed somewhat.
