There was nothing to impeach him on. Look how hard the Rep tried. No, seriously. I jsut wanted to set the record straight. It kills me when I see those stories, and seeing all three of them together pushed me over. Sorry for going so long |

Nothing to impeach him on? Adultery is a felony in some states (can't recall for the District), and perjury is definately an impeachable offense. Don't get me started on the real estate scam, the Hubbles, accepting money from China, etc. The first two alone are impeachable, and the last three and more may have been. Nothing to impeach him on indeed. |

Oh heck, I want to get back to the topic. There is no doubt that Bush is neither the most articulate or quick on his feet speaker we have ever had as president. Does that disqualify him to be president? No. Does it mean he can not get his message across? Sometimes. The problem is that he is in the political game and facility of speech is a great asset, especially in these media-sees-all times, and especially with the media's left-tilt. Bush had the great advantage of running against Al "Ice Man" Gore, and still almost lost. Were he up against a great speaker with a valid agenda, he would have real problems. If Lincoln spoke like Bush in the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the world might be a very different place today. |
