Something Wicked This Fae Comes
Hmmm...I do believe we have come full circle again on another topic. :chin: We had this same debate about Bush's ability to speak about two months ago (or there abouts).

P.S. See other thread for my opinion on the subject. :loling:

Sorry, I am probably the only one laughing at this...carry on carry on. :wave2:

Yes, we do this frequently in here, don't we? Perhaps we need to consider providing Charmed-related posts when it gets to this point.... ;)

I hate it when the same topic keeps coming up time after time.

Taverner are you saying that the President spoke well during his speach or when he was answering questions?

Yes I am, I notice he is always thinking about what he going to say when answering a question. It was at random its not like he can read someones mind and knows what they are going to ask. I think Bush is an okay guy. People don't seem to realise he is trying his best but people seem to be too focused at what a Senitor has to say or what an anti-war surpporter has to say. Sometimes even his pseeches goes on deaf ears because they are scared that Bush might be right. He was right about going to war, he also can't say ok by cristale ball says that four US Airways passenger planes will fly into The World Trade Tower, crash a plane into the Pentigon and kill three thusand people. Bush knew of the plot to highjack An aircraft not take them and use them as missles. I guess he has to appolgize for doing what he done right and let Bin Laden and give him a noble prize for killing 3,000 and give the purple heart to Saddam for killing millions of his own people, and having WMD. WMD could of been tranported to Syria before the war or Iran and have been disarmed.

I gave up the message board for Lent, so I've been away for a while.

The speaking ability of the President of the United States has traditionally been held to a higher standard than just a regular shmoe on the street. I for one would be in favor of a more articulate president.

I'd rather have one who speaks his mind.

I really thing he was holding his temper over the endless repetitions of the press wanting him to apologize, or accept blame for September 11th, yadda yadda yadda. It really was disgusting seeing such a blatant bias.

Here we go again. Speaking articulately does not preclude speaking one's mind. They are not mutually exclusive. I would rather have a President who speaks his mind articulately.

Furthermore, as to the press, I thought they went pretty easy on him by not asking follow up questions or asking the President to stay on topic when he went back to repeating his talking points.

I think the President did articulate his position quite clearly, and he successful dodged the attempt by the press to act as oppostion researchers for the Kerry campaign.

Here is where our OPINIONS diverge. Obviously reasonable minds can differ on this issue. I personally don't understand how anyone can reasonably say that President Bush is an articulate speaker, but I recognize that as my opinion.

Time to put something here
I guess we would have to define articulate.

1) Endowed with the power of speech.
2) Composed of distinct, meaningful syllables or words, as human speech.
3) Expressing oneself easily in clear and effective language: an articulate speaker.

two out of three ant bad, one could even strech number 3 to fit. So yes I think the president is articulate

I guess we would have to define articulate.

This is the definition of "articulate" on Dictionary.Com:

ar·tic·u·late ( P ) Pronunciation Key (är-tky-lt)
adj.
1. Endowed with the power of speech.
2. Composed of distinct, meaningful syllables or words, as human speech.
3. Expressing oneself easily in clear and effective language: an articulate speaker.
4. Characterized by the use of clear, expressive language: an articulate essay.
5. Anatomy. Consisting of sections united by joints; jointed.

I believe we are specifically using the 3rd definition.
