I'm all in favour of the EU, UN or NATO or an international UN sanctioned coalision stopping these autrocities, by force of arms and lethal force it that's what it takes.

Cost is not a concern, and it should not be, nor is should a return on the costs be a motivation.

Then why didn't you support the stoppage of the even worse atrocities occuring in Iraq? We had most NATO, EU, and OCI nations, and most of the UN nations that have any money; that can be an ally of much worth.

Get a grip Bill.

If you look back over my posts it will be clear while I objected to the invasion of Iraq. Please refrain from misrepresenting my views. (HINT : unilateralism (well USA/UK and Australia really) - with no UN support and sexed up intelligence and scarey prowar propoganda designed to scare the shit out everyone in the region and mostly the you guys in the USA. )

PS : I've never heard of Busch Beer - what's it taste like ? If it's its a good drop I'll try some if I can find a club or pub that stocks it - if it's not too expensive.

More to the point is why was absolutely nothing done to stop the autrocities committed by the Iraqis (over 2 decades) ? The autrocities mentioned were not even brought up by Bush, Blair, Howard or their cronnies before the invasion, only after it become clear there were no WMD to be found.

Let me guess - could it be that various presidents of the USA were happy enough to leave Saddam in place while he was at war with Iran and only became pissed with his regime after Kuwait was annexed by Iraq in 1990 - threatening USA oil supplies and evicting an absolute monarchy that was USA friendly - even if a bit despotic themselves ? (while his people were engaged in all manner of nastiness - talk about hypocrits !).

Another lie.

Almost every speech Pres. Bush gave on Iraq mentioned, to one degree or another, the crimes Saddam Hussein had committed against Iraqi's.

Even the media seem to ask the same questions after them being answered. You don't anything Somerland. You object to anything that a Republican President. If this board is around in eight years and another Republican President is elected Admiralbill will just say "I told you so".

Why are we even discussing this? Who cares what happens in Africa? Those people have been killing each other so long they can't remember who they're with and who they're against anymore. Those Sudani people are all radical muslims anyway. Let them kill each other. Less we have to take care of later. Same with Rwanda and Burundi. Why should we bother trying to help these people? So more Americans get get killed in the process like Somalia?

Did you become a hardcore extreme right conservative during your absence from the boards? :headscratch:

I can't believe you aren't at least going to recommend UN intervention. ;)

No, I really have come around to the right wing way of thinking. If you're not with us, you're against us. Time to start separating the mold from the cheese people!!! :evil1:

Seriously? You're welcoming me back? I thought for sure you were going to disable my password once you knew I was here. I know we didn't part on good terms, most of my strange behavior was due to a very personal tragedy. :sorry:

I detected a hint of sarcasm...hence my UN comment. But I was playing it on the safe side just in case.
