I know it was you, Jagalom. You broke my heart. YOU BROKE MY HEART!!! you better watch your email, and pray you answer your damn phone whenever I call you or you will receive the most severe action ever taken against anyone that the AYDPF has ever serviced. :thud: You will be :hail: and  before me, and begging for mercy.

ON topic...That is a shame, Minuet. But, I really dont think he's broke. I think he's just having fun.

Something Wicked This Fae Comes
I am a tad embarrassed for him (Shatner) now that this guy dedicated a whole article to Shatner in this format. :ermm: But I don’t think Shatner is strapped for money either. After all, he is making all of those commercials. He has to be making a pretty penny. Doesn’t he still host the occasional Iron Chef competition (I think it is called Iron Chef…it was scammed off of the Japanese show with a similar title)?

I will admit though, I can understand why the guy who wrote the article would get the “strapped for cash” impression. I know I do sometimes when I see big stars doing commercials sometimes. It is hard not too. You see an actor in these great movies, and a few years later you see them in something like an Ex-lax commerical. You think, what on earth?

I would be embarrassed for him if he did an Ex lax or metimucel commercial. But then again, I would be embarrassed for anyone doing one of those commercials.

The writer is a humorist. I figured you would be able to figure that out for yourself :P

Although, it does make you wonder why Shatner is doing all those commercials.

Of course folks that don't get the jist of the article probably wouldn't get "Red Green" either...

I read the article.

I think the crux of it is that the author of the column is embarrassed that The Shatner is doing this commercial work. The author neglects to mention that The Shatner did Promise margarine commercials back in the 70s.

What do I see? The Shatner has grown up. He can be self-deprecating. He can poke fun at his old "over the top" or "give it everything you've got" image. He is a man at ease with himself. Look at the movie Free Enterprise as an example. You know what? People love him! They may not have been Trek fans back in the 60s, if they were even alive, but they'll say "Hey, there's Bill Shatner!" today.

I didn't know that The Red Green Show was available in the U.S.!

We Canadians do seem to excel in comedy don't we?

For those who have no idea what we are talking about click here The Red Green Show Did you know that Red Green started out years ago on a local station in Hamilton, Ontario (halfway between Toronto and Niagara Falls)? He wasn't even on a network in Canada for many years, but the CBC finally picked him up and a star was born. Before Red Green he did another comedy show with his wife.

BTW I just saw a new (to me) All Bran commercial with Shatner and a bunch of firefighters. The look on his face when they give him a hunky firefighters calendar to thank him for convincing them to use All Bran is hilarius. :loling: :loling: :loling:

You may have read the article, but you didn't read my comments regarding the author of the article. He is not embarrased that Shatner is doing commercials. He treats everything and everyone this way. It is just his sense of humour.

Hopefully he never sees Bob Dylan's lingerie commercial for Victoria's Secret. :thud:

He probably thought he'd be shooting in the same scenes as the models.
