Back in the Civil War, girls tied yellow ribbons in their hair for their loved ones. During the '70's yellow ribbons were tied around trees during the hostage crisis. In 1993 AIDS activists harnessed the red ribbon. The red ribbon was furthered by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and to honor fallen DEA agents. Here are some others: Pink: Breast Cancer Cow Print: Cow Appreciation (Have you appreciated a cow today?) Yellow: End teen suicide, US soldiers come home safely, support spina bifida research, support young comic book fans who live in fundementalist households Gold: End overbreeding of golden retrievers, support research to end childhood cancers Dollar Bill: support capitalism (because it's under attack here in the US?) Orange: We have a family member in prison (very popular with the multi national corporate set) Cobalt Blue: Stop being mean to Leonardo DiCaprio (aw, come on...) Purple: Support gay marriage, support pancreatic research, against animal cruelty, against abuse to truckers (Abuse to truckers?) Invisable (dotted line where a ribbon should be): for more nonsense in the Internet world, remember to buy your romance novels at full price Pink and Blue: against partial birth abortions, end male circumcision Hemp: support um....oh, yeah hemp Avacado Green: Stop stupidity on the internet Black: No "Phantom of the Opera" movie, support the Amish online (think about this one...) Red, White, and Blue: Support the USA, Support US troops, In rememberaceof 9/11 Toupe: break chain e-mail Red with Brown dots: against decaf coffee Sick Brown: ban McZee (the host of some of Microsoft's edu-tainment packages) Butt-ugly Plaid: for freedom and protection of satire, irony, and derision on the Internet Green: support those with chemical sensitvity, support rural farmers, protest a series of lawsuits by Hasbro, support for Ireland Multi Colored: Support an end to Ribbon Campaigns These are the ones I could find. Any others? |

How about coming up with one to raise money to repair all the pinholes in your designer clothes that are caused by all the ribbons. Has anyone ever tried to wear all of those ribbons at once?!? Send me one of the Avocado Green ones.

Speak softly, and carry a 57 megaton stick!

Not only did women tie ribbons in their hair, it seems that they also pushed baby carriages around the block. Their fathers also were fond of keeping shotguns behind the door. This all usually happened in the merry month of May. |

Something tells me that no matter how many Avacado Green ribbons we wear, it will never stop stupidity on the internet. |
