http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3603353.stm Seems like they finally realise that English food can be good food. Interestingly enough, the 4th Earl of Sandwich had his residence at Hinchingbrooke, which is where I live. http://www.hinchbk.cambs.sch.uk/historical...rth/fourth.html |

Do Mayor McCheese, the Hamburgaler and Grimace live there too? Sorry, when you said Earl of Sandwhich, I immediately thought of Mayor McCheese

I don't know, Admiral - I would have trouble classifying Mickey D's as a "restaurant."

This could turn into a good thread. Describe your idea of a 'good sandwhich'. I am trying to think of all the good sandwhiches that I have ever had. Some had bacon, all had cheese (cheddar cheese), letuce, tomatoes, onions, bell-peppers. Turkey is always good, but maybe brisket might be better. Hmmmm, this requires some thought, but not too much thought as I am still on a diet (which may explain my fantacizing about sandwhiches). And, I think that a hamburger is actually a sandwhich. |

38957, I only point this out because it is unusual for you. Why do you spell sandwich in such a strange way? It has been written correctly throughout the thread except for you. As to a good sandwich. Hmmm, grilled cheese with tomatoes is definitely high on my list. Now enough about sandwiches - I can't eat bread till the middle of next week

Fried egg; peanut butter & jelly; tuna. But not all together, of course.

I thought that it was obvious that I am a poor speller. There are words that I will never get correct. and one of them is sandwhich, sandwitch or sandwich. There are abunch of other words that I have to constantly check when I am writing something important. I am incredibly picky and succint when writing facts and figures with decimal places and significant figures, but when it comes to spelling words, I don't know what my problem is. Laziness, I suppose. |

A friend off mine was cursed out at a French McDonald's because he asked for a burger with no ketchup. |

Something Wicked This Fae Comes

Just one more thing we have in common Fesarius. I like all three of those sandwiches. In addition... I love plain tomato sandwiches (little mayo, salt and pepper). I like BLTs, Pimento Cheese sandwiches and thinly sliced turkey (with the works) sandwiches. Although I do not much like regular turkey anymore (like you would eat at Thanksgiving). I like an occasional fried bologna sandwich, fried potato sandwiches (you put butter on each slice of bread, potatoes and thinly sliced onion), grilled cheese sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches (I had a homemade chicken salad sandwich tonight for dinner). I am sure I could think of a dozen more…sandwiches can be yummy. Unfortunately, the best tasting sandwiches are usually the most fattening.

A burger isnt a sandwich, it comes in a bun, where as a sandwich is better two slices of bread. I think the traditional BLT is a winner, or BLT plus chicken and mayo. But then there is egg mayo to think about. Or extra-mature Chedder with Branstons pickle. |

Certainly a hamburger is a sandwich. A bun is made out of the same materials as bread. Think of it as a small, formed loaf, but with more yeast. Hell, I put my burgers on rye bread with grilled onions and a hunk of extra sharp cheddar. Some mustard (preferably stone ground) and I'm good to go! |
