Okay, So I bought the first four seasons of TNG over thirty days ago, I watched the first two seasons and then when I got to the third season the case was broken in the inside part that holds the cd's in. I wouldn't have minded but one of the cd's was chipped on its edge becuase of this leaving me with one defective disc in the series. I know it is too late to return it, but there has got to be some way to send it back to the manufactuer. I mean it is unquestionably defective. I just don't know who the manufactuer is. I have been to the paramount website, but I have had no luck. Does anybody know who the manufactuer is and how I might contact them? I'd like to buy the next three seasons, but if this is going to happen again, I don't think I want to. Can anybody help me out? |

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do have a suggestion. Don't assume it's too late to return it. I'd bring it back to where you got it and try anyway. It just might work out. My daughter's crib converts to a twin bed. We recently converted it, but had to buy the mattress first. The instructions said nothing about the mattress so we just assumed it was a standard twin boxspring and mattress. It turns out, we only needed the mattress and there was a special board we had to buy as well. We learned this after buying the boxspring and mattress and noticing that the bed was much too high. The point? The mattress had a tag that explicitly said "No returns once the plastic has been removed". Well, we had not only removed it but had thrown it away and the trash had been collected (we removed it a couple of days before converting the crib to a bed). I contacted the mattress company, explained what happened, and they took it back with a full refund. You never know if you don't ask... |

I've got to second IE's suggestion. Pack up the DVD take it to the store and let them know all you're asking for is a straight exchange. Very good chance they'll do that and put the defective one in a send back and get a credit for it themselves. No harm, no foul. |

I'd have to agree with Swidden on this one. If you still have the receipt, I'd take that in as well. Generally, companies are more than happy to oblige when it comes to exchanges for defective items. However, if you wanted a refund, you may not have as much luck. I'm sure they'll understand when you explain the situation to them. |

^^^ JGSL, Do they accept returns if you have the sales slip? I know that Best Buy does not (although they do accept exchanges), which is why I no longer do business with them. However, I have had good fortune with Amazon.com.

A question of scruples. You could buy one from another retailer, got to your car open it, swap the bad one and return inside immediately to return it as damaged. Do not accept a swap as you have re-thought your purchase. The store will receive a credit on their returns, so you won't be screwing them.
