Wait, TNG and DS9 never got a story of the cast celebrating the launch of thier series. Why Voyager? Can you believe how fast time has flown from the announcment to today. Who knows, maybe if you're not looking forward to something, time flies faster. I remember when I was waiting for DS9 season 5 (The one season I was very unfamiler with at the time) and it felt like eternity before it actually launched. |

Glad to see they are moving ahead on the release of those DVD's... although it is likely that I will not be able to get my hands on a copy for quite some time. I am still working on getting the next generation episodes, so it will be awhile yet. I plan on buying them though. It will just take me longer then most...

For anyone on this board who has the Voyager DVD's, have you opened them up yet and see how they are. I'm kind of sad they cost so much and I decided not to buy them, because it would be nice to see Heros and Demons, Time and Again, and Parallax again. How was the First captain feature. I saw a picture of Bejod, and thought she really looked ugly but that was based on a picture. |

I AM VEREY VEREY DISAPOINTED AND MAD WITH THE VOYAGER DVDsFirst - the box they come in are even chipper then the DS9 box's. It seams like with each series release they just keep getting chipper and chipper. By the time Enterprise comes out, they just going to hand them out in paper sleeves. Second - NO ART WORK ON THE DVDs - what the where they thinking not putting art work on the DVDs. how stupid can they be. I bought mine at best buy so it comes with an extra DVD with extras and it had art work - really nice to. why didn’t they put it on all the DVDs????????????????????? I am really upset about this.Third - the DVD menus are screwed up, they audio is not sinked properly, and the sound comes in an out (when it revolves back to the beginning) very prominent. on the DS9 and TNG menus you could barley tell when the audio started over again. Forth - the DVD intro just sux, my preference I know. But it looks so cheap compared to the shots of DS9 in the last set. All and All I do not recommend these sets to people who are on the fence about them, they just aren’t good enough. I will by all seven because I want to have all the shows on DVD, but I have the money to burn. If you don’t, and you could live with out them, I say don’t buy them. Paramount just gave me another reason to think voyager is the forth best show (there are only 6 if you count TAS) in the trek franchise. |

I think they saved so much money off the production of the cheep DVDs that they thought it would be ok to splurge a little

Any word on the time between releasing additional seasons? DanDan, keep yours, that may have been an error or oversight to not print on the DVD. It may be a collectors item. Heck even music cds all have art these days.

Any problems with the quality when you are actually watching the episodes, and tell us about the special features. Bad packaging may not deter me, I repackaged my TNG DVD's so I didn't lose the lot if I stepped on it. Although I may not bother buying season one as I have most of them on the flashy VHS versions and I'm willing to bet they will last longer than the DVD's |

Well for starters the disc 6 in a paper sleave is only a 'bonus featurette'. It is 16 min long inside look at ST the Experience in Vegas. It makes me excited to go there someday, it looks like lots of fun! There are five DVDS, the special features are on # 5 and I watched most of them last night. Finally some answers regarding the (oops) casting of the first Janeway, Genevieve Bujold. Uugghhhh, the suits were really gripping after that nursing home performance. There was no inflection in her performance. You get to see many of the same scenes with her as Janeway. I recommend you watch the first episode right out of the box before you hit the special features to see the difference in the two Janeways. I have not seen the pilot since wrapping the finale and it is amazing to see how dead on the actors portray those characters from day one! I remember with TNG and DS9 it took a full season to get into their roles. Kate Mulgrew looks in her interview like she's starting to go Carrie Fisher on me. She better let someone else do her makeup when she rolls out of the rack for an interview! The packaging seems to be made as slim as possible, and was clearly very inexpensive to produce. I offer you a challenge, if you take the 4 major pieces apart, you may not be certain how to put them back togethor properly. Additionaly the episodes listed suffer from the very gay contrast of Orange with white lettering fading to black. This makes some of the printing aggravating to read. The DVD quality of the episode delivers as it should, AWESOME quality there. Paramount should FIRE the design team for this product and give the profits to his boss who will get credit for the high gross on this $110.00 set! A must have for anyone who even thinks they like voyager, I will now enjoy it fresh after all these months! |
