I'm Captain Kirk!
While I was at the convention this weekend, something caught my eye. I saw some pictures of a episode of Voyager with the crew and someone who that look like Ming the Merciless. Could someone tell the name of that episode(s)?

I don't remember the name of the specific episode, but it would be one of the holedeck adventures of Paris playing the role of fictional 1930's serial adventurer Captain Proton...

Voyager afficionados would be better able to answer the specific episode question.

It might have been the fifth seasons "Bride of Chaotica."

That is exactly who Max Von Sydow (Emporer Ming) reminds me of...Doctor Chaotica (Martin Rayner). :)

Dr. Chaotica was on Bride of Chaotica and Shattered (Season 7 I think). I recall him being on other episodes briefly but I can't recall which ones right now.

I loved Flash Gordon!!! (I can hear the synthesized theme music playing right now).

I rememeber seeing that name. He was also one of the guest at convention this past weekend. I can't remember his real name. I love Flash Gordon myself. I went to see the movie three times in the theater. In junior high school my english teacher would bring Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers movies for us as a treat. Even though they were in black and white with really cheap special effects, they were still great! And now I know who captain_proton_au is named after. Thank you all!

Seriuosly, all those that have not delved into every voyager episode are really missing something, those with prejudged opinions of the series - throw them out and go get DVD sets available 24th Februaury.

Robert Duncan McNeil as Tom Paris as Captain Proton and Garret Wang as Harry Kim as Buster Kincaid.

Proton appeared in 'Bride of Chaotica' 'Extreme Risk' 'Night' and 'Shattered' - all great episodes. Janeway also played Arachnia and the Twin Mistresses of Evil were played by the Delaney sisters and dont forget that the Delta Flyer flight controls were designed Proton style.

I remember watching Janeway trying to get her head round being Arachnia in "Bride of Chaotica". It was a good laugh and I enjoyed the episode very much. :D
