New time slot ...; Still on Wednesday, though.

I found this news on the TrekToday website:

January 27, 2004 - 7:46 PM
Star Trek: Enterprise will move out of competition with the WB's Smallville, shifting to the 9 p.m. Wednesday hour to take over the slot vacated when Jake 2.0 was cancelled earlier this year.

Zap2It reports that UPN will bring back The Mullets - presumed to be near to cancellation after it went on hiatus in October - airing new episodes at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, with the new computer-animated series Game Over leading in at 8 p.m.

Game Over will debut and The Mullets will return March 10th, though UPN has not yet announced whether Star Trek: Enterprise will shift time slots on the same night or will be moved earlier. The 9 p.m. hour is currently occupied by reruns of the surprise reality hit America's Next Top Model.

Enterprise will thus reclaim Star Trek: Voyager's old time slot, competing against NBC's Emmy-winning The West Wing, whose ratings have dropped significantly over the past few seasons.

It will also compete with the WB's Buffy The Vampire Slayer spinoff Angel, which usually brings in lower ratings than Smallville does in the hour before, and with Fox's moderately successful evening soap The O.C..

The news comes after several months of rumours from The Programming Insider and others that UPN would move the Star Trek prequel out of competition with the young Superman series.

Be on the lookout for the time change!

Thanks for the info Tribblemom.

I wonder if they will change the timeslot in Canada or if we will continue at the same time (meaning we will get the show an hour before you do!)

Thanks TribbleMom. At least that's better than the previously considered (rumored anyway) Friday slot. Still, they're going to have to consistently produce quality episodes if the time change is to help the series much.

I think it's in the Screen Actors Guild by-laws as part of her break-up with Burt Reynolds... :D

As far as moving the time period goes, do they think this will help or just stop the hemorraging...

I just read on the TrekToday website that the time change may be only temporary. It is possible that Enterprise will move back to its original time (when it is currently showing) sometime around mid-April.

Anyone feel like a yo-yo yet?

Hmm, let's see...

Time slot: 8:00, 9:00, 8:00
Show: New, repeats, new, repeats, new
Quality: Up, down, up, down, up, down

Yup, I'm feeling like a yo-yo. :D

Seems to me that testing the waters with reruns could be a good idea. If it does not work, they don't risk bad ratings with the new episodes. But this changing things around mid season is confusing :(
