I don't get to see much of the newer Treks, but last nigth I got to watch Voyager and it was pretty good. It was about a race of hunters taking over Voyager and turning the ship into a halodeck for them to hunt. In was set in 1944 France. The Hirogens were the Nazi's and the ships crew were the French and Americans. It had a good plot and really enjoyed it. I think I will turn in to Voyager more often! |

And we got to see 7/9 wear a nice dress, let down her hair and sing.

Unlike the Kazon, I liked the Hirogen. I thought that they made for an interesting adversary. I wish they had worked on their development more. More effort on them and we might have had less Borg overuse... |

Apparently we look like this now

The Hirogen were some of my favorite aliens. There are a few other episodes with them in it. The last episode with them goes back to the holodeck episode with a very original twist. You'll like it. |

Belive it or not, "The Killing Game" (The episode in question) is one of the 2 times I like 7 of 9. The writers let the hair down, and let the real Jeri Ryan come out instead of having this emtionless atomaton every week. (No offence to the 7 of 9 fans, but the writers should have let Ryan have more range) Not only that, but we also got to hear her pretty voice. The other time I liked 7 was in Someone to Watch Over Me when she got a duet with the Doctor for "You Are My Sunshine." It just sounded so cute. |

Yeah "The Killing Game" was pretty much the only Hirogen episode I liked I thought the others were a bit dull. Everyone complains about the Kazon, but they werent in many episodes anyway, they were in a lot of season 1 eps, but that was combined with the stories of how the two crews fit together - I liked that aspect so I didnt mind the Kazon much, plus Seska was a great character , most of the eps with the Kazon had her in them, so that was another reason I didnt mind the Kazon that much. |

The Hirogens were a very interesting advesary race on Voyager. It is unlikely that such a space faring civilization would exist without a great deal of help. Humans were at one time primarly hunting packs, but then began to set down roots when the beginnings of agriculture occured (note the pun). This allowed them to settle and develop societies. These societies allowed technological developments that got us where we are today. Wild hunting packs like the Hirogen are not likely to develop as they have in my opinion. But, this is just sci-fi and I guess they could've undergone considerable change as a culture after getting into space. |

Were the Hirogens the race that 'collected' all kinds of species that they had encountered? I recall seeing an episode where there was a Kazon, a Borg (among others) on a ship, either dead or otherwise incapacitated. |

I guess you can say that. They were a Hunter speices, and they collected thier pray. The episode you are talking about might have been "Hunters," but I don't remember seeing a Kazon. |

^^^ Gdog, I'm not sure I saw a Kazon, but I know I saw a Borg. (I think some of these were hanging upside down, if I'm not mistaken.) Does that sound right? |

Gdog, I think it's Hunters. They were quite formidable. I think Seven and B'Elanna(?) went aboard and were shocked at what they found. I will try the Library to see if I can locate the episode for certain. |

It was actually Seven and Tuvok, and I'm sure it is Hunters because that was where we saw all the Dead heads/bodies first. |
