One of my selfish favourites is "Q Who", which facilitates the first meeting with the Borg. Often overshadowed by TBOBW, it all has an eerie ambience about it from beginning to end. And some great dialogue from Q that kind of put us in our place, so to speak.

I agree 100% Franko! Q is my favorite character in the TNG series, but not because of why most people like him, which I think is just because he's mischevious and funny. I do like that, but I like him more for the questions he raises and points he forces Picard and crew to ponder. And all from much more than a non-human perspective, but a perspective of "anything is possible" so to speak.

My favorite line from Q-Who and one that I use when debating others about U.S. foreign policy is, and I paraphrase again, "The universe is a dangerous place. Don't come out here if you don't expect to get a bloody nose from time to time."

I voted for Data's Day, but after reading 'The Inner Light', I think I'll go with that instead.

I picked "Other". My favorite single episode of TNG has always been "Family", the immediate follow-up to "The Best of Both Worlds." Aside from the amusing moments with Worf's human parents, we got a look at Picard's vulnerability. Even the Wesley part of story wasn't that bad. :D

YES! That is my favorite episode... not sure which title fits... (I am guessing "Family") I rarely remember episodes by titles. Worf's parents was a nice touch... you seen a softer side of Worf for a change... and you even learn of his child hood. Wesley getting that hologram from his mom about his dad... but the best of all was Picards trip back home.

Man... what we learn of him from his younger days... the reasons he is what he is and how even though he is a Captian on a ship that must look after every one... even him needs a little love from his older brother and he cries at the end... I even get chocked up at that and I made my girl friend watch and she use to hate Star Trek and she cried which means it is good. That whole fight out side, the explanition of him being Lucutas and the forgiving and getting drunk (the healing process.) ... just every thing having that old world feel... I love it. And his older brother who I do not know who it is in real life has that strange look to him, mean as heck but even hug Picard before he left... awsome. Great acting. Great story telling.

I'm so glad there is so much love for Family on here. It really is an underrated gem, and I also liked Data's version of it an episode later.

What was his version? His mother or his father when he finds him or her or when he starts having dreams or even when he creates his daughter? I only get to watch ST on Spike... so they do not always run exactly in seqeunce plus as I said I do not know the names.
