Would You Like To See VOY Done Like BSG

Would you like to see a mini-series movie done with the Voyager crew like Battlestar Galactica is being done on Sci-Fi currently?

I think that this would be a good next step for Star Trek. Voyager, IMO, would be a better candidate for this that DS9 because DS9 kind of just did a big 'everybody went their own direction' at the end.

BSG has been done in a quality way despite being made for TV and this gives me reason to think that VOY could be done similarly.

I hope I haven't scene (pun alert) the last of Janeway, the Doctor, 7/9 and the rest. I liked the show.

I wouldn't mind seeing either a miniseries OR a tv movie but it should NOT be a rush job. TPTB should take their time with it and do it right. Also, it should move the Franchise FORWARD and not BACKWARD. An actual Star Trek series should wait a number of years before premiering.

I definitely agree with you on another series waiting a while. So that you have the TNG excitement when it comes out, not just another series because Enterprise ended.

No rush job please. Put some thought into it.

Because of the failures of Enterprise, I honestly wouldn't mind if Star Trek as a whole went the Mini-series route. I mean trek is getting tired and as a series, its not doing very well. What we need is a brake from trek (Maybe until treks 40th anniversery) and than bring back Ronald D Moore, Ira Behr, or Rob Wolfe and do a mini-series of either DS9 (That would be so sweet) or Voyager. Berman can be the creative consultant, but thats just it; he doesn't write, produce, or anything to that extant.

Now *this* would be sweet indeed. I don't think either Behr or Moore would come back, but Wolfe is a possibility. Who knows. Perhaps a mini-series (something I would not like to see, but that's another story) would entice them enough to consider it.

Gdog those writers are those who love Star Trek! the first series, I bet it was their bible. Did you see them in the final of DS9?

I think that the idea of the mini-series route for any form of Trek is the best idea for the future. I would argue the thought that Voyager is better suited to a miniseries follow-up than DS9. There is the whole question of what has happened to the Founders and the Dominion, Cardassia, Bajor, and even Captain Sisko in the years since.

I would not mind finding out whatever became of the Voyager's Maquis crewmen (especially Chakotay), Seven, the Doctor and others. Let's be honest though, the fact that they made it home to Earth (even with the loose ends) pretty much wrapped up the series. We know Janeway made admiral, but I do not quite see a storyline where the higher ups at Starfleet come to her saying we need you back in the center seat (as they did off screen with Kirk in TMP).

With DS9 there is a somewhat broader canvas. Did Bajor ever join the Federation? What about Cardassia's recovery? Just what is happening in the Gamma Quadrant, was Odo successful in saving the Founders and the Great Link? What happened to the Vorta and the Jem-Hadar in the resulting power vacuum? The Dominion was something of a dark reflection for the Federation, was there a rebellion upon learning of the Founders existence being in Jeopardy?

Voyager really left open "what becomes of the Borg?" (talk about a power vacuum) and "what becomes of all that marvelous new technology?"

Also, it'd be nice to see particularly 7/9's and Chakotay's next step. Janeway could be back to find the Borg or something.

I know I've said that Trek is often over Borgified, but I think that this idea would prove positive. I do like how they were treated on VOY.

I'd like to see DS9 done like BSG, but not Voyager. Then again, I disliked that series. They got home... that's it. That was the whole point. End of story.

I can already see it, as far as the Borg go, We will get a short one or two line explanation about how "They've adapted!". The Borg are the go to villain these days they are not going to leave a power vacuum there. I really don't expect the creative staff to make a real effort to explain how they recovered from the end of Voyager.

As for finding out what happened to Voyager's crew, yes I'd like to know. Did the Doctor ever settle on a name, or take his cue from an old BBC series? Who stayed with Starfleet and who said: "Seven years in the Delta Quadrant and I've seen enough of the 'final frontier,' I'm going home!"? Did Harry ever get a promotion? I still don't see a story being readily built around that.

DS9. So you could snore through a 4 - 5 hour miniseries instead of a one-hour episode.

If they do DS9, they'll have to find some way to make it interesting and not The Days of Our Lives in space.

I liked Voyager nearly as much as TNG. I didn't care much for DS9. I watched a couple of seasons when it began and never had any interest in it. I was making myself watch. I lost track of what timeslot it was in and never searched very hard to find it again. I didn't even realize it had gone off the air until a couple of years later.

Interesting. The Admiral didn't care for VOY, you didn't care for DS9, and I like both series (albeit DS9 a tad more). This is what makes Trek very interesting for some.... ;)

Do a Voyager mini-series. But blow up the ship and kill the whole crew off in painful ways in the first 10 minutes and than have the Definant race in and save the few good character like Chakotay and....Chakotay. From their follow up the actually interesting DS9 stories and not the VoyaBore.
