In my opinion when one is running a franchise the worst thing to do is to tell the audience that you already have that they are not your target audience.

Agreed, and Amen to that.

If my reply is a Spam, then tough.

The real reason? The fact that Star Trek has dewildered is because of the lack of respect, people have leaked the story to everyone on the internet before it hit the movies. They also leaked Enterprise.

I got interested in Trek through TNG and re-runs of TOS (plus the TOS movies). I enjoyed DS9/Voyager and rewatching some of DS9 I think its even better the second time round.

Enterprise, whatever they choose to call it is not Startrek and will never be Startrek. It is just doesnt have the spark that the other three, even Voyager, did have. Thats why its doing badly - its poor TV. And poor TV, even with a Startrek logo, is not going to get viewers. Did I hear correctly that TNG reruns are rating higher than new Enterprise episodes?

I say let them end it here and now, ditch Enterprise, burn all record of the show and disown it. Then give it a while and perhaps go further into the future, as we did from TOS to TNG et al.

Luckly for me there are a few DS9's and a handfull of late Voyager episodes I have yet to see. That plus several TNG episodes I have not seen in many years. Together they should keep me happy.

DS9074,

I like much of ENT. I recently watched Fallen Hero and Desert Crossing, and found much to like about both. Maybe the show will grow on you (maintain your interest) during the next couple of seasons?

This would not surprise me. Thankfully, TOS did very well after it was cancelled, and (I think) it has been on the air continuously since 1966 (including reruns, of course). :)
