^^^ Gabe, Thanks. I still think it's quite odd to die at so young an age from 'natural causes.' The first thing I think of is something congenital, or perhaps hereditary. Very odd.... |

^^^ CP, Wow. I can't fathom even thinking about suicide, even jokingly. I wonder how things could be so bad that life is no longer important to some.... |

Ok who did he play? I know he played in The Neverending story 2. But when did he play in Star Trek? |

^^^ Gabe, I'm not certain he (Landis) did. I think some posters were just surprised that two relatively young people could die so young.... |

Re: a tribute to Kellie, this came from the TrekToday website: Berman also noted that the staff is looking for a way to honor Kellie Waymire (Elizabeth Cutler), who passed away in November 2003. "We had hoped Kellie would come back as well," Berman said. "We have discussed some way of honoring her and we'll be looking into that in the next few weeks." I'm wondering if they will add something into an episode that would indicate that her character dies as well, with that action happening offscreen. I doubt they'd be able to have the character actually appear again for the action, even with the advances of CGI. It'd be especially neat if her character did something heroic against the Xindi. Perhaps then her tribute might be worked in as a funeral scene. |

^^^ TribbleMom, Many thanks for that.
If they've gotten the appropriate permissions from relevant family members, then I think it would be wonderful to have something substantial. (What I mean is, more than a dedication at the opening of an episode, if possible.) |

Well , its been three months , And all ive really found was this from another message board, source is not included, so I dont know how legit this is. "On November 13th, 2003, Kellie Suzanne Waymire tragically and unexpectedly passed away in her home in Venice, California of an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia (a heart attack), likely related to mitral valve prolapse, a condition she was diagnosed with as a teenager. A private funeral was held on November 23rd in West Milton, Ohio. A public memorial service will be held on December 8th at UCLA in California. The Kellie Waymire Scholarship Fund has been created in her memory at UCSD...." "....Regarding the cause of Kellie's death: "According to the LA coroner's office, Kellie died from a undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia, probably related to mitral valve prolapse (MVP). She had been diagnosed with MVP, as many women are, when she was a teen. This is normally a benign condition but appears to become much worse within the last few years resulting in an enlargement of Kellie's heart and eventually her sudden death. There was no warning of this as Kellie was very active and displayed no apparent symptoms." source |

CP, Thanks for the update. I had a friend in college (a male) whom had MVP. He wasn't allowed to be too active in sports. Gosh, Kellie was so young.... |

I watched Two Days and Two Nights last night. In every scene with Cutler, I got a lump in my throat. She 'seemed' so healthy and fit. I don't know too much about this MPV, and why (if true) it is more probable in females than in males. |
