Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
Is Chakotay from that tribe of indians that Wesley went to go hang out with near the end of TNG.

They ended up in Cardassian space and Chakotay was from the Maqui which was fighting against the Cardassians, so I figured maybe that is where he is from.

I don't think they ever actually said so, but your idea makes a lot of sense.

Chakotay is descended from the Rubber Tree People of Central America (pre-Mayan). His descendents left earth in the 21st Century and eventually settled on a planet near the DMZ. According to the startrek.com database, Chakotay can trace one ancestor (a 20th C. schoolteacher) back to Arizona. Who knows whether her side of the family migrated from Central America or were from North America.

The Native American Indians in The Journey’s End were from North America. Left earth in 22nd Century wondered around for 200 years and then settled on Dorvan V. They were there for 20 years before Wesley and the TNG crew met up with them. Picard had a connection with these particular Indians though…one of his ancestors was responsible for a massacre against their tribe in the past.

Dorvan V is near the Cardassian/Federation border, but I don’t think Chakotay and the Native American’s in Journey’s End are from the same tribe though.

24thcenstfan,

I do wish you'd be more accurate with your posts. They were actually there for 19 years, 11 months before Wesley and the TNG crew met up with them. ;)

Love your sense of humor. For a moment, I thought you were going to respond by showing me the documented evidence that had them there longer--LOL. ;)
