OK I'll be one of the few in this thread that is actually going to talk about Enterprise.

CP,

You realize that the thread didn't begin with your post, right? Several posters have discussed the series in this thread.

Yes, i did say 'one of the few' and not 'the only'.
However most posts did not talk about Ent.
Then again I do pay more attention to my opinion than others ;)

CP,

What, talking about Archer's and Trip's respective chests do not count? :wow:

BTW, I want more air time for Hoshi, and definitely more dialogue. I also want the same for Travis. :)

Well here is my list so far.

**I really enjoy the CGI—especially the battle scenes with other ships and the richness in color.

**There has been steady character development with most of the top 6…especially with Trip, T’Pol and Phlox. I am pretty sure Mayweather is no longer on the show.

**I have to agree with Captain Proton, the away missions where they visit other planets are highly enjoyable. The best episodes this season have included away missions to bazaars, outposts and a planet with one lonely telepathic inhabitant (Rajiin, Exile, Shipment and now Twilight).

**I like how they have opened up the ship more. Before they stuck to showing the basics... sickbay, mess, bridge, engineering and Archer's quarters (occasionally one or two others). Now, they show the command center, other's quarters on a regular basis, different storage rooms, and all of the other places that I listed above. Before the ship was very claustrophobic looking.

I think I can scrounge up a few more Likes...I will have to come back on occasion and add to my list. :wave2:

I also want the same for Travis. :)

Lets start the
Save Mayweather Foundation ( SMF )
Hoshi/Trip/Travis are my fav characters, characters played by the best actors IMO.
More screen time for Travis!!!!!!!!

Note: although SMF as an anagram also has another use ( as in Silly Mutha ....) ;)

When I speak about Enterprise, I talk about the entire series as a whole. To find some good here, I have to narrow my view to individual episodes or characters.

So far, there have been two episodes that stood out strongly. Carbon Creek and Twilight with an Honorable Mention to A Night in Sick Bay.

As far as characters, the only two I happen to enjoy are Porthos and Phlox. I did like Trip, but the writing for that character is VERY uneven (as it is for most of them).

Gabe, my participation in Star Trek fandom goes much farther back than 1991. I remember the quality of writing that was done in TOS in the 1960's and in TNG in the 1980's. Some of that quality DID appear in DS9 and, very briefly, in Voyager. However, I believe that Star Trek should have moved forward in time and not backward but that's another story.

So, you see, even *I* can find some things to like about Enterprise. Too bad the good stuff is coming up few and far between.

If actor Anthony Montgomery is no longer on the show, there should have been a reason for this written into his character of Travis Mayweather.

I have enjoyed what "Enterprise" has done with the Andorians. Big improvement over the TOS Andorians while staying consistent with what was established about that species in TOS. Love the way their antennae move!

I've enjoyed the episodes that left you thinking and pondering. Fallen Hero, Cogenitor, Stigma (even though I didn't believe the Vulcan doctors were acting very much like either Vulcans or doctors), and Carbon Creek are among my favorites to date.

Hopefully some of the less-used characters (Travis, especially, and Hoshi) will get more attentionin upcoming scripts. It is unfortunate that not everyone gets a chance to shine in every episode .... but 45 minutes of air time isn't a whole lot to work with.

I also like that we're seeing the beginnings of some of the technology taken for granted by TOS time. The Transporter is fairly new technology and they're all still a bit wary of using it for transporting people -- that's a natural human reaction of wishing to stick with what has been tried-and-true instead of risking so much on an uncertainty.

Jjtrek and TribbleMom,

Yeah, I too liked Carbon Creek a lot. :)

Here's something mildly interesting. Jjtrek gave an honorable mention to A Night in Sickbay, which I would agree with, as I liked it. However, that episode (in Boards I've read) is panned by just about every fan of Trek. The disparate opinions are IMO why the series is worth talking about.

CP,

Okay, I'll sign your petition (SMF) to save Travis. :)

I like the uniforms this season. It is a fashionable ensemble…early explorer meets futuristic flyboy by way of late series TNG Picard uniform jacket/DS9.. :D

You know, I have noticed on this thread that many of the female contributors have been declaring their appreciation and approval for bare chests and so forth (Sheesh, there are so many of these--> , I think I need to get a mop!) that if they are not careful, I'll have start a petition on for submission to B&B about showing more of T'Pol's and Hoshi's physiques (you know that is one petition they'll read!) :D

There are many things I love about Enterprise:

--The Music: This season especially, the staff never cease to amaze me with the musicial scores in the series. I like how they have set the tone, as well as bring some suspense to the show. Anomaly was a prime example of this. I was really hooked during the scene where the pirates were looting the ship, as well as the second the last scene with the Enterprise and the Xindi at the end flying around the sphere.

--FX: They really have improved this year. That explosion of earth and the enterprise in Twilight were well done IMO.

--The Andorians: I hope they come back because they are the best things to happen to Enterprise. I hope they play a key role in the further development of the series.

Gdog,

Amen. I'm pleased someone else is picking up on the scoring for ENT. It's eerie, at times macabre, and on occasion, not for the squeamish. :wow:

I don't like creating new threads unless I absolutely have to do so.

I would like for the writers to finalize the transporter this season, or at the latest, next season. I'd also like to have the screens be implemented (i.e., created) soon. I like shuttle pod trips as much as the next guy; however, I do miss seeing the transporter element in ENT.

Has anyone read any spoilers anywhere that mention whether the transporter or the screens will come into being soon? I'm not as impatient for the tractor beam--but perhaps (technologically speaking) this may have to come first (before the other two items). I don't know too much about technological evolution.
