There was a Voyager episode in which they came across a planet of humans that were decendents of humans who were abducted in the 20th century. The humans beat their alien oppressors and now have a flourishing civilization. Janeway offered her crew the opportunity to stay there, with little hope of getting back to earth in their lifespan. None of the crew remained. I kind of think that I would have remained. What would you have done? This also leaves the door open for the future. Here is this human colony in the delta quadrant. Do you think that we'll see it again in a movie or another series? |

LOL, everyone gets fascinated by that ep. Same with Terra nova on Ent, I wonder how that planet evolves. I think if it had been a real situation, some of the voyager crew would have stayed on the planet, especially those with(or planning ) a family. |

I would have remained loyal to Janeway, and my confidence in her (to get me home) would have remained unchanged. BTW, was this (The 37's) the episode with the 'blue alert'? |

LOL, we never heard of the blue alert again, later on in the series they land Voyager on the demon planet and no mention of a blue alert. |

CP, I think it's okay if something is referenced once. This occurred in TOS (and probably in the other series as well) on a few occasions. One that comes to mind is the segment showing Angela Martine (and her short-lived husband, Robert Tomlinson) in Balance of Terror. We're informed just how phasers are charged before they are operation-ready. If they showed us that each and every time, the Enterprise wouldn't be able to fire off a shot--LOL.

Actually I would stay on Voyager. Also it is offically called the 37's planet I think. I would convince Kes to say so I would have to put up with her. |

Gabe, Not a fan of Kes, eh? She had (IMO) gentle screen presence (well, not in every episode!) and a soothing voice. I wish she could have stayed on.... |

I haven't seen "The 37's" in a couple years now. Please refresh my memory on what exactly a blue alert is. |

Basically the blue alert was issued to inform the crew that the ship was going to be landed on the surface of the planet, as to why a whole new coloured alert was needed for this....who knows? We never saw it again, now that i think about it , they also landed the ship in "Dragons Teeth" and again no reference to a blue alert. |

That reminds me of Red Dwarf where they had brown alert.
Me too. I was glad to see miss goody two shoes leave the show.
The 37s, yeah I forgot that was the name. I like the idea of staying on and being part of a small developing branch of humanity. It seems that about the year 3000, there is a good story for the Federation and the 37s to hook up and fight I guess. |

Unless the Borg get to them first. "I am Earhart of Borg. Resistance is futile." |

The 37s was one of the few Voyager episodes I liked. Last fall, I wrote a parody of it for Enterprise called "The 77s!" In it I had the crew of the NX-01 finding a '77 Trans Am floating in space. They find a planet and come across Trip's long lost uncle, "Big Dog" Tucker, the first member of the Tucker clan to be kidnapped by aliens, in stasis. I posted this on Trekweb.com, but have no idea if it is still there. |

I thought that they were far enough away from the borg. It was before Voyager started getting close to Borg space, wasn't it. The 77's? Platform shoes, sideburns, bell-bottom pants, and let us not forget disco and polyester leazure suits. To bad they didn't abduct John Travolta

Agreed. They we'd never have to put up with "Blowout", "Stayin' Alive", or any of the other schlock he's made since 1977. (I still think that anyone could've played Vincent Vega!) |
